Happy ending

The water for most of Wescoe is shut off for a week. So if I want to go to the bathroom or get some water from a fountain, I must either go downstairs to the two-stall restroom in the food court area, or to the newly built areas west of the main building. I don't mind so much because it gets me out of the office for a little extra time. But for someone with health issues, or for people in wheelchairs, etc., this would be annoying at best. A week? Yes. At least. They hope to have the plumbing back on by next Tuesday.

[livejournal.com profile] mckitterick bought an exercise ball yesterday, so this morning I focused my calisthenics around exercises I could do on the ball. It was a lot of fun, even when I fell off and banged my knee. I was trying to do an abdominal pike exercise. I didn't do very well, but I got back on and did three or four very small and very wobbly attempts before moving on. I'll get better.

I made it up the hill in just barely over ten minutes this morning--it used to take me fifteen. I'm not getting any sleeker or lighter, so it's nice to see tangible progress. If I don't drop at least a few pounds soon, though, I might make an appointment with the endocrinologist. Fiddling with the thyroid hormone medicine isn't something I want to deal with (it's more a PITA than anything), but if my hormone levels are wacked again, I need to fix that sooner rather than later.

Hurray, hurray, I'm feeling better physically! No tummy issues all weekend, and not even a smidgen of a headache. I ran around all day Saturday (yoga, errands, grocery shopping, and late night knitting with [livejournal.com profile] bestill) and I didn't feel exhausted or run down on Sunday. In fact, Sunday turned out to be a lovely day. It's not so bad when door number one gets slammed shut--if the contents of door number two include lunch out, leisurely wanderings around Target, and cuddling on the couch watching Looney Tunes with your best friend.

Thank you! [livejournal.com profile] anerys made it for me! It's beautiful. I want a tee shirt of it.

Ooh. Thanks for linking the pike.

Actually, a few months back, I bought a ball to act as a second desk- or tv-chair at home remembering yours.

I might have to bring it (or another) up here to my work office, though.

You're welcome. Have fun!
