Much better, thank you

Aaaaaah. I can turn my head! What a wonderful feeling. Thanks to everyone for the kind words and suggestions yesterday.

Today, for our last day of Spanish class, we had a review for the final that was set up like a game show. My team *spanked* the other team. It was kind of unfortunate that the other team consisted nearly entirely of the annoyingly stupid pre-sorority geese. And my team had me, a kid who lives in a scholarship hall, and a kid whose mom is from Colombia (the country). But yeah. SPANK.

UPDATE: I just realized that I haven't said much about the thyroid issue lately. Well, I'm down to a .125mg dosage of Levoxyl and my Free T4 levels are back in normal range (they had skyrocked with the first .250mg dosage). *However*, my TSH levels are still laughably low. Low as in the lowest range of normal is .354 and mine is (I kid you not) .03. I go back in for more testing in 3 months.

I'm gonna pick your brain on this thyroid thing. I have enlarged thyroid glands and it has been monitored closely for years and the generic test has always come back high normal range but it is my understanding with this broad range initial test you can be within normal range and still have a sluggish thyroid and there is now a more reliable means of testing. HELP! I basically need to walk into my doctor's office withe the name of the test, they always look at me like they are not sure what I am talking about.

Demand to see an endocrinologist. The average doctor doesn't know beans about the thyroid. You need to get your T4 *and* TSH measured. It's two separate tests. But don't bother explaining this. Just demand a referral to an endocrinologist.

I just confused this with the prior post...my test has shown me to be borderline HYPO-thyroid (not HYPER) and I have all the physical symptoms and the symptoms have gotten more pronounced since I had Dixie.

Should I bypass a general MD and head for an endochrinologist (sp?)?

Hypo/Hyper, whatever. Same gland, same test, same doctor. See an endocrinologist. Make it your mantra. =)

(I'm hypo, too)

I just made an appointment with an endocrinologist that was listed on the thyroid.org website for January (first available). Hopefully this will put an end to some of the insane symptoms I have dealt with for the past three years!!!

I'm glad you posted that...it made me remember to take it further. My last test was back in August and both my ob/gyn and general MD have the "let's watch it and restest in a few months" attitude despite the symptoms I have had, I've just learned to live with it.

Luckily I have a PPO so I don't need a referral.

I lived with it for months and maybe years before I demanded to see a specialist who immediately diagnosed me with a goiter!!! If that had gone undetected for a long time, I would have had one of those awful swollen necks and had to undergo surgery. Yeah, good for you for making an appointment. Good luck.

spank

Well, spank-a-licious! Speaking of trivia, don't forget to put the 0 before the decimal point, as in "0.125mg dosage."

Yours in Minutiae,
Chris

You're talking to the girl who got a 7 on the math section of the ACT. Unless it pertains to my bank account, I don't pay a lot of attention to numbers. =)

My prescription bottle doesn't have the preceeding zero. Perhaps I should point this out to the pharmacy.
