Exhausted

While I was on my (blissful) vacation, I stayed up a bit too late and slept in every day. That's what you do on vacation! So I expected my body clock to be a little off. But it's the third day back at the office and I'm still tired. Beyond tired, really. I'm usually a little groggy when the 6:00 a.m. alarm goes off, but by the time I get started on my exercises, I'm fairly alert. By the time I'm done, I'm wide awake and ready to start my day. Not this week. I could fall asleep right now given a moderately quiet environment and a blanket.

My eyes ache and my thoughts are sluggish. My body feels like it's pushing through water, even though my muscles themselves aren't tired or sore. Awful, awful, awful.

Perhaps it's just allergies taking a toll on my body. I don't feel ill, just ridiculously tired.

I've been hitting an energy peak (if you can call it that) around 4:00 p.m. that lasts until maybe 6:30 or 7:00 if I'm lucky. After that, it's hard to carry on a coherent conversation or do anything remotely resembling intelligent interaction.

What's the deal? It really sucks.

Oh, and this is so not DST issues. Not even.

Minus the stomach pains (which are pretty much gone today), that's EXACTLY how I feel. I've already taken 2 naps today. After I'm upright for awhile, I feel like it's time to be horizontal again. It kind of feels like when I've slept way too long, but I know that's not the case, and exercising (like taking Ruby for a walk) doesn't help. Let me know if you figure it out. It's very weird!
