Is anyone here a member of the Lawrence Friends of the Public Library? I know they get a sneak peek at the books available for the sale, and there's one book in particular I've been wanting for several years now: A hardback copy of Nine Coaches Waiting, by Mary Stewart. If you're a member, and willing to look for that book for me on Member's Night (Thursday, April 3), I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Dunno how many of you watch American Idol (I don't), but the co-worker of a friend of mine has a son who is a contestant and people, this kid is fucking awesome. Check out the YouTube clip that stuology posted of him.

Last night I pulled out some fabric and cut out a dress. *JOY* I hope to get it sewn over the weekend. I fear it will still be too chilly to wear a cotton dress next week, but I can't wait for my first opportunity. New clothes! I don't think I realized how much I missed having a new garment every once in a while. It makes me very happy to think about pretty new things to wear. I almost called in to work today so I could continue to sew, but next week is a big week for me, so I really couldn't. Alas.

In fact, now that I look at my work calendar I can't take off any time until after graduation. Seven weeks. *sets timer to ding on May 16*

We watch American Idol because of the teenager, and it's usually an excercise in torture, but D.C. has impressed me every time he performs. This is the first season where I actually care about who wins, because he really is that good.

And YAY for new clothes. :)

I only watched it the first time to be nice. I'm all for showing support for my fellow workers. But, sheesh! He's fantastic! He gets better everytime too. I'm actually excited to see him perform next week. I'm might even vote!

This is a never-say-never lesson for me, I suppose. Me, excited to watch American Idol! Huh.
