Oh, for the LOVE, part 2
Today is going well. I remembered the camera. But can't find the adapter to download images from it to the computer. I know I had it here at work. I know I did. I can't find it. Typical.
Last night was really great, too. A stellar day.
I canceled plans with friends for no reason whatsoever since what I hoped to do wasn't possible until after I would've been home from
bestill's house anyway.
I discovered that all my costume bras are too big. Way too big. None of them fit at all, anymore. None of them are alterable where I need to alter them. I must start an entirely new costume wardrobe from scratch. Judging from the way the costume bras fit, I have lost a cup size in my breasts and an inch (possibly more) around my back. Weight loss = hurray, but this particular size change sucks hairy donkey balls.
New bra-buying should also probably go on the agenda. Yay.
While working on the now-very-necessary new costume for an upcoming gig (and my Smoker appearances this fall), I broke the center medallion of my Cost Less bra cover. Those of you who aren't longtime belly dancers probably have no idea of the heartbreak involved here. I'll liken it to breaking the spine, or perhaps accidentally ripping pages, of a famous and beloved book that has gone out of print.
To add insult to injury, I had to shop at damned Wal-Mart to buy a new bra base because nobody else sells cheap, thickly padded bras. And yes, I've looked for non-cheap, thickly padded bras elsewhere. Also, I'm stuck with three D-cup bra bases I bought a couple years ago that I can't use now. Unless, you know, I chuck the whole exercise thing and go back to being a lazy eat-whatever-I-damn-well-please slug.
Which at this point is sounding pretty fucking good.
Bah.

I can't remember the center medallion for your bra, but have you looked if they have it here (http://www.natures-gems.com/)?
Maybe at least one of two of the bras are salvagable with large cookies? And I'll check my bra stash to see if I have any of those around, but I think I already traded off the WallyWorld bra bases to you.

This is dumb, but it's nice to have at least one person who understands how shitty it was to break one of those things.
Alas, cookies won't help with the old bras. The cups themselves are not only too large, but spaced too widely apart. I'll bring one over tonight and show you. I mean, it's possible that I could alter it, but it would take less time to make a new one. I could do a new bra and belt set in the time it would take me to tear apart and remake the bra of an old set.

I feel ya. After losing 120 pounds, my breasts are quite petite, comparared to before. Fortunately, though, the rest of me is also quite petite now, making it all in proportion? ;) I'm trying to look on the bright side--I have to shop in the juniors section to find flattering tops. :)
Bra shopping I continue to postpone, since I bought a whole new wardrobe of bras 6 months ago; but then lost another 36 pounds (of the 120 total) doing intermittent fasting. *headdesks* I'm very happy to be as trim as I am now, though, so I'll stop my bitching posthaste, lol.

Is it possible that I might have a matching medallion (or similar) from one of my old goodies? Is it a shiny brass or antiquey?

And I don't have the money to drop $100-$200 on new bras right now. They might not be as hard to find as 32DD, but I doubt I'm going to pay less than $30 or $40 for a 32 (or god help me, 30?!?!) D cup bra.

I'll bring it. Hell, maybe it'll fit you! It's from this costume (http://www.chernobylred.com/dance/smokerKCRF2007.jpg).

Sorry about the bras..............

The expense of brassieres is rather a racket. The couple-hundred it would require to replace them is definitely what's keeping me from running out to do so as well. I can't even imagine if I had complicated costuming issues as you do, or had to make them.
Will you be shopping online to find such a size as 30D, or somewhere locally?

And we'll dig through what I can find for medallions and whatnots.

I need almost a whole new wardrobe of *everything*. Again. And the (work-related) court appearance that I have coming up in a couple weeks is the deadline I'm pushing for getting a new suit that's NOT 3 sizes too big and making me look like I'm playing grown-up doctor dress-up. ;)
