Friday five

1. List your five favorite beverages.
  • Red wine
  • Iced tea
  • Hot tea
  • Diet Dr. Pepper
  • Coffee

    2. List your five favorite websites.
    Besides LiveJournal?
  • eBay
  • Recipe Source
  • Fabric.com
  • Free Will Astrology
  • The Onion

    3. List your five favorite snack foods.
I don't really snack. But on the rare occasions that I'm hungry between meals, I will eat:
  • Nuts, any sort
  • Hot milk with vanilla and sweetener
  • Cheese, any sort
If I could anything in the world and not worry about weight gain (or general health), I would choose:
  • My uncle's special chex mix
  • Dolly Madison Powdered Sugar Gem Donuts

    4. List your five favorite board and/or card games.
  • Mexican Train (a domino game)
  • Gin or Rummy
  • 99 (card game, but it involves math so I usually need help)
  • Catchphrase (but we have the electronic version)
  • Solitaire

    5. List your five favorite computer and/or game system games.
  • Myst
  • Riven
  • Exile
  • Uru (just bought it!)
  • Uh, whatever Cyan comes out with next? Those are the only computer games I've ever played.

Speaking of computer games- if you ever have a hankering, I have a few shooter type ones that you might like. The dark Alice in wonderland is especially fun. You play Alice, and fight card guards, and stuff. You even have to play chess to get through one of the levels. :)

Alas, if it requires any quick thinking or fast reflexes, I am no good. That's why I don't play anything where I have to be reactive. But I love the puzzles (and prettiness) of the Myst games.

I could never get anything but frustrated with Myst or Riven

I think the key is extreme patience. Also, I'm not geared to want to win. I'm very lackadaisical about wanting to *win* a game. I'm happy just plodding along. Which is why I don't do well in most computer games.

After about 6 hours of play and not being able to "get" anywhere. I ended up frustred. I never figured out what to do. Pooch says that it is a pattern matching - "I saw these two things together earlier" type of thing that I am not particularly good at. He says the clue is "Do you like the game concentration". Also I play computer games to relax and how ever it is that Myst does ends up not relaxing me at all. Me I like Roller coaster tycoon, or master of magic, or civ III.
