The conference is done

Done. Well, my part, anyway. I spent a lot more time working on Saturday than I'd planned. I hope my supervisors agree to allow me more overtime than what I estimated.

In other news:

I have completely lost my appetite. Bleh.

I have some mosquito bites in weird, weird places.

[livejournal.com profile] corsettegirl's boy agreed to make my turkey-tail fan for me. So I can remove that task from my list. Thank gods for kind and talented people who don't mind working on the barter system.

Clutter of all kinds is starting to trigger a claustrophobia I never knew I had. I need to do some serious purging. Topping the list: Too-big bellydance costumes. That's gonna be tough. Handmade costumes don't sell well. Used handmade costumes? Albatross city. I took some of my wardrobe to Wild Man Vintage, who doesn't mind selling used handmade clothing. I sold all but two of the under-or over-grown garments I took there last year. Here's hoping I do as well this time.

I have no energy. I still need a massage, a vacation, and a drink.

Well, ok, maybe this is a little weird, but what have you got for costumes, and what sort of sizing? I'm looking for some stuff for a whore costume, and anything I don't have to sew, given how much else I've got going on ... Skirts especially would be really handy.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Right now I'm only selling my bellydance costumes. And while some people might classify them as whorish, I don't think they're what you're looking for.

I really really really hope my faire costumes will still work for this year. I haven't tried any on yet because I'm in denial.

[identity profile] rougewench.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you should probably consider trying them on no later than August 1st, so that you will have time to do something if necessary (although I can only think that it would be a problem in the case(s) of the bodice(s)).

I know, I know.

Just not right now.

[identity profile] sherwood21.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah - hopefully your faire costumes will be either ok or easier to alter for your needs than your bellydance costumes. (Other than the corsets, anyway.)

[identity profile] rougewench.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, of course, not...specifically because if you lose more weight in the next couple of weeks you'd want to start bodice building with as close a body to what you'll have by Labor Day Weekend as possible (and build it smaller with room the proper design to be expanded should any of the weight come back (modesty panels, etc.)

You'd really be making yourself crazy if you had to alter things a bunch of times like you had to do for [livejournal.com profile] nottygypsy...

Yeah don't make yourself crazy! ;-)

Too late.

Meep.
I got some atrocious chigger bites last week. Those critters are just RUDE.

Yay for the conference being over... and you might do well with the costumes on tribe.net... maybe not get $$ back on the work, but at least get them gone.

Slow down, breathe, laugh and know that you'll have it all in hand soon. You might be feeling crazy now, but I know you always get stuff done, and you feel better for it.

Hugs!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2008-07-15 02:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Gah. Maybe this will be the thing that finally makes me sign up on tribe. I've been avoiding it.

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2008-07-15 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm on it.. but never there unless there's something I'm looking up, as I find it only nearly as awkward to use as Myspace. But there are a lot of costuming trade/sales tribes there, maybe more so than here.

... and oh, on the bites? I found the Walgreens Multi-antibiotic Plus (pain relief numbs it) cream is great for bites. The numbing agent helps a lot and the cream rubs in instead of being all ointment-y.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2008-07-15 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the tip about the cream. I found another bite this morning. They must be in the house. That sucks giant hairy donkey balls.

Which dance costumes are you selling? And would I have a prayer of fitting any of them?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2008-07-16 01:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Um. No. Honey-buns, darling. Seriously.

If they're too big for me, they're going to be absolutely swimming on you. You'd have to be pregnant with a rhino or something.

[identity profile] theoneinblue.livejournal.com 2008-07-16 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL - hmmmm, hadn't considered "rhino" for a middle name for Munchkin...Munchkin Rhino King Huth, not bad. ;)

Ye gods, if he stays in here much longer, I may be giving birth to a baby rhino, or elephant, or other large quadruped.

But damn it. I love your work. *sigh*

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2008-07-16 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I love your work. *sigh*

Well, let's get on actually doing something with this dress of yours I've got here. Once Munchkin hatches and you're at a stable weight/size, we can talk about designing you a costume.

[identity profile] theoneinblue.livejournal.com 2008-07-16 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Gack! You do still have that dress - I am so sorry that you've been keeping it all this time! Shit! Yes, we must do something with that, must must must! (Thank you for your patience!)

[identity profile] mckitterick.livejournal.com 2008-07-16 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you SO MUCH for all your hard work on the Conference, prepping for it, and helping with the details of the Workshops and so forth. We appreciate it immensely. If you hadn't done so much, we would certainly have lost our minds *g*

You're welcome.
