Converting a CDA file to MP3 or WMA file?

I need to convert a CDA file to MP3 or WMA. Is it easy/simple? Does it require special software? I kinda need it soon...oops.

Thanks in advance.

Never mind! I just had a crisis at the office and am putting this away. I'll just go home and get the damn CD, re-rip it, and finish this project on Monday.

if the .cda file is currently on a cd, Windows media Player and iTunes both can handle it

Will Windows Media Player will do the conversion if the file is on my hard drive?

I honestly don't know, and unfortunately am not in a position at work right now (lacking both the hardware and software) to find out. Sorry.

Good luck!

I couldn't find anything in the program that would let me save it as a different type of file--maybe it requires a better/newer version than mine. Thanks for trying, though!

You may be loathe to add a new program, but I'll point out iTunes is a free download, depending on how desperate you are.

(I completely converted to iTunes once I got my iPod - it's pretty intuitive.)

I can't load new programs. Period. Boo.

Oh, right. My work computer came with iTunes, heh. Anyone else in the office you can send files to and get them to convert for you, maybe?

:(

That lame there, eh?

It's not lame, it's just that we all have, you know, the same computers.

Oh, well I was thinking, maybe someone was friendlier with the tech people (and got them to install iTunes or somesuch), or if they have to do any work with audio files... like interviews and such...

I used to work with the Tech People. I'm my own best bet.

If I need new or special software to do this, I'll just skip it.

If you already have it on your hard drive, and it is 44bytes long, then it is just the track information, not the music.

how big is the file?
