All clear. Yay?

Dr. Fairchild gave me an all-clear at the annual Endocrinologist visit yesterday. Yay. No dosage change. Yay. Down twelve pounds since the last visit. Yay!

I spoke with him about my energy levels (low) but he said that my bloodwork numbers show I should be having the opposite problems if I'm having any problems of that sort--excitable, jittery, heart palpitations. OK, so there's a big no on those, so I think I can chalk my exhaustion up to Other Life Bullshit. Yay.

[livejournal.com profile] solan_t was an absolute angel and brought over her serger last night. Then she made an another trip early this morning to drop off extra thread. Super sweet of her. I can get started on the cooler-weather option for my Smoker costume now. Yay!

Last night I went to bed early. I was nearly incoherent when [livejournal.com profile] cedarsong came over to use the grommet setter at 6:30-ish. I finally threw in the towel at 9:45 p.m. and was in bed by 10:00. I felt a little better when the alarm went off at 6:00 a.m. (yay), but I'm already starting to drag a bit. I'm very much looking forward to my nap this afternoon.

Yay for being able to nap at work. Serious serious yay.

I have a little Lawrence question, if you don't mind fielding it. Are there any Indian or sushi restaurants around town you'd recommend? I have a cousin who's just started at KU, and I might take her out to dinner while I'm in KC for Faire.

The only Indian game in town is India Palace. For sushi, I like Yokohama. A lot. KC probably has a lot more options, but I'm not familiar with many restaurants in KC these days.

Natalie and I love Kokoro for sushi, on 6th Street. They also have a great non-sushi Japanese menu and a section dedicated to steakhouse-style fun.

Yep! I used to like Kokoro, too! It's on the opposite side of town from me, now. Very tasty, though.

I don't think that I've ever had sushi at Kokoro. I'll have to try it. I did have Yokohama for lunch today though. Yummy!

I wonder of I can convince Mac to go out to Kokoro for dinner now. Just the mention of sushi makes me want to eat it, even if I had it for lunch. It is a crazy reaction that even brownies can't 100% produce.

Thanks! If Hayley wants to go into KC, I'm sure I can find something. Might even try to drag her out to faire with me.

I just went to a fabulous indian restaurant Saturday night--it's in Westport, and they have another one in Overland Park.

Napping? At work? what coolness is this?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I have an office. With a door. That closes.

It's fucking awesome. I love it!

[identity profile] nottygypsy.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
This is coolness!

[identity profile] chronovore.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
That's pretty neat. I went from having my own office with a door that closes to having a >2m wide desk in a row with 4 more desks, in the middle of a room which has no closed areas. In desperation, I've occasionally considered retreating to the stairwell but there's a security force which patrols commonly just to look for unusual stuff, and a sleeping foreigner probably qualifies as noteworty.

Build a fort out of boxes? I've considered that to add more privacy to my cubiffice.

[identity profile] chronovore.livejournal.com 2008-08-27 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Epic Icon Win.

However, as for the suggestion, it is impractical. I work in a Japanese office and building a fort around my desk would either be seen as unusual and distancing (HORRORS!) or an early move at building my own daimyo in the company, resulting in a quick visit from the corporate ninjas.

Oh man. Suxxor. =(

[identity profile] solan-t.livejournal.com 2008-08-27 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
But, but, but... The serger was useless without the right colored thread!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2008-08-27 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Well yes, but now thanks to you I have the right thread! =D

XOXO
