Progressing

Zen Habits has a post today about developing good habits and sticking with them.
This week I moved up to the next stage in the HIIT schedule. I've been progressing a lot slower than was suggested, but I know my body changes slowly, so I'm not surprised or disappointed. In fact, I'm pretty thrilled at how well I'm doing. On August 1, I started out with a program of alternating 60 seconds of "work ass off" with 90 seconds of recovery for a total of eight cycles (twenty minutes). August 10 I moved up to a split of two cycles 90/60, four cycles 60/90, and two cycles 90/60. As of this week (August 24), I'm doing all eight cycles at 90 seconds "on" and 60 seconds "off" for the twenty minutes. I have to admit, though, this morning it was a slow walk up the hill. Oof.
I weighed myself this morning post-workout and saw 142 on the scale. Granted, it was followed by a point eight, but still. 142.8, post-workout. \m/ >_< \m/ I need to take some progress photos.
Thanks toroya_spirit for pointing out to me the happiness that is Mike's Light Hard Lemonade. Six grams of carbs, no HFCS, and 98 calories a bottle. I'm pretending that it's not *this close* to being soda pop, because wow that stuff's gonna be good after a hot day at faire. And since beer isn't an option right now, it'll do.
