Another Real McCain video and a possibly unpopular opinion

First the video:

Now the opinion:
I don't want Sarah Palin to step down from the vice presidential candidacy. I know this could prove to be a self-destructive sort of spite, but I feel like the Republican Party was stupid enough to put her there in the first place, they should suffer the consequences. I'll feel different about it if it's me suffering the consequences later, but I have to admit, my initial gut reaction is to make McCain live with the consequences of his actions without complaint.

I remember seeing something about the Palin choice, and it struck me as just Machiavellian enough to be true: In the [hopefully unlikely] event of a McCain victory, very shortly after January 2009 there would be a resignation of Palin as VP for a "family emergency" and she'd be replaced by somebody the RNP didn't want to risk putting forward on the ticket.

Disgusting, and yet. Very strategic. I hope they don't get the chance.

Aye...

I can't take credit for it, and I'm sad to admit I don't recall where I saw it, but I swear I'm not making it up. Kind of wish I were, though. Bleh.

Hopefully it won't be an issue *Crosses fingers and toes*

Oh, gross. I hadn't even thought about that.

*shudder*

I'm pretty sure ditching Palin at this point would spell an even harder doom for the McCain campaign. He'd lose any shreds of credibility he has with the Religious Right, and he's already pissed off a huge chunk of the non-moonbat Republicans.

I just don't think he wants to win. How "maverick" would it be if he's only running so the republicans can't win? I know that's crazy, but the nuttier it is, the more likely I am to believe it.

Well that's certainly a new slant...

well, the longer he campaigns the more it makes sense. Nobody could be that bad at this unless it's on purpose. I'll give one example. Picking Sara Palin takes the experience argument off the table. That was the one argument he had that could have been effective. Now he has to acknowledge that Obama is WAY qualified. oops.

I'm not sure that McCain feels he has to acknowledge anything remotely resembling reality.

haha. excellent point!
