Miracle
Just one appointment with Dr. Adams and I feel so much better. I should have done that immediately when I started feeling unwell. NMT treatment is amazing. My soft palate feels just a tiny bit...cold. Not really sore or scratchy, but delicate. Everything else is fine! I can talk above a murmur. I can eat and drink without pain. My lymph nodes are only the tiniest bit tender, and the visible swelling is completely gone.
Uh-May-Zing.
Now that the allergies are mostly under control, I'm going to have her see what she can do about my ongoing inner ear/vertigo issues. We begin that treatment next week.
I'll be on vacation starting sometime this afternoon. I've decided I'm not going to come to work at all on Thursday, and I had already resolved to take off all day Friday. These professors had a deadline of last week to get their course descriptions in. They don't have them by noon today? Tough. They can wait until after Fall Break. Wankers.
Perhaps I'll get some sewing done during the long weekend. I need new autumn/winter clothes. I haven't tried on anything from last year/fifteen pounds ago, but I'm guessing not much is going to fit all that great anymore. Fortunately, the ten-day forecast indicates that I might not need to worry about cold weather clothes for another week.
I also need new bras.
Update: 12:50 p.m., Wednesday, October 15. I am officially ON VACATION. Outta here!

Hey -- I've been meaning to ask. I'm a pretty decent piecer-of-cloth, though I've never made Actual Daily Clothing for myself. If I wanted to start giving wardrobe sewing a shot, what would you say is the most reasonable piece to start with?

I think waistbands are easier, sit better, and are more comfortable, but opinions on that are divided. My favorite generic skirt pattern is this one, by Butterick (http://www.butterick.com/item/B3134.htm??tab=list/skirts_pants&page=all). I've made probably a dozen skirts from that one pattern. No kidding. Great pattern!
