Puff

I like to think that if I could look like this all the time, I'd be happy. Of course we all know that wouldn't really happen (either the happiness or me looking like that all the time) but I can't say there isn't a grain of truth in the whole "it is better to look good than to feel good" philosophy. You know what they say about smiling and happiness: Fake it 'til you make it, baby. Trouble is, I don't feel like I look good, I certainly don't feel good, and finally it doesn't have anything to do with my hair. Which is pretty fucking awesome today in its level of curl thanks to high humidity and no need for a hat.

Speaking of no need for a hat, you'd think that the spike in temperatures would help my mood. But no. I'm less dizzy today (change in barometric pressure? sun spots? actual improvement in health? who knows!) but my stomach is weird. I'm exhausted. My joints ache. I'm sinking into a blue fugue from a combination of a whole bunch of shit, physical and emotional, and blah-blah-blah-blah-blah. You've all heard it before.

Three things that gave me a smile:

Shoe monument for man who threw footwear at Bush. TIKRIT, Iraq (Reuters) – An Iraqi town has unveiled a giant monument of a shoe in honor of the journalist who threw his footwear at former U.S. President George W. Bush.

and

[livejournal.com profile] slinka's very clever response to the latest head-scratch-blink-blink-WTF? movement by those nutty religious wackadoos.

and

[livejournal.com profile] middnightclear for the original photo I used to make the icon for this post. If the weather is still this nice when I get off work today, I just might go buy me a pack of ciggies.
