Snore

The weekend was tiring (but mostly productive), and I did not sleep at all well last night. I'm slow and dragging today.

If I hadn't had to get out of bed for my 7:30 chiropractor appointment, I might have called in sick to work. I'm leaving today at 2:00 for my (final) endocrinologist appointment with Dr. Fairchild in Topeka, so I'm already taking two hours of sick leave. I'd have been fine with calling in the full eight hours, but I wasn't about to miss my session with Dr. Adams this morning. And since I was already out of bed...

But now I am so very sleepy and I'm a little worried about the drive to Topeka and back. I'll need to take some music I can play loud in the car. I'm scheduled to have some drinks after I get back into town, but I'm not sure about that idea now. Perhaps I'll wake up soon. Maybe? I hope so. We've already postponed this Drink Date twice.

I'm generally not a fan of popcorn, but after reading this recipe for Chile Lime Tequila Popcorn, I am absolutely craving it. Wow. Wow. I might just have to buy the cookbook that recipe came from. Doesn't it sound amazing? I would nix the butter, though. Really? A third of a cup?

Does anyone have a hot air corn popper I could borrow? I don't think I want to try popping corn on the stove. The idea just makes me nervous. Also: Less Grease = Always Good. Anyway. This sounds like a delightful treat for Sunday afternoon margaritas!

Mmmmmm.

Ack!! When I was a kid the only way to make popcorn was on the stove (which is not as bad as in a fireplace or over an open fire). Poppers didn't become popular until the mid 1960's. Air poppers became popular even later.

The vendors who visit the Federal Building have tequila lime popcorn for sale.

Wow!

Popping it on the stove is how we ate it when I was wee, and it is soooo much better than microwave or even air popping. It wasn't greasy either. You didn't use *that* much oil to pop it.

I think I saw that book in Target one day. I picked it up and flipped because I was intrigued by an entire book on popcorn, even though it wasn't that big.

I think I'm just emotionally scarred from a Bad Stovetop Popping Experience from when I was a kid. Perhaps you could give me a lesson? When your house is free of the current cooties?

Yup! I hope that is sooner than later. And I plan on bleaching every surface that can be touched by our diseased hands. I do not want that to resurface.

I want this icon to continue being just a joke.

OMG! Your icon FTW!

And tequila lime popcorn sounds yum.

Cool, thank you. Let me know when you think the house is free of plague and we'll set a time. Yay!

Yay for popping lessons b/c I was going to say the same thing. SO much tastier and doesn't take as much oil as one would think.

Air popper...

I think da Jbird might have one in the basement!

If the requested popping lesson with Stu goes badly, I'll give you a call.
