Upright

I'm back at work today and feeling much better. Still twingy, but so much better.

Monday I went home at 1:00, alternated ice and heat on my back, and drank copiously.

Yesterday morning I got up, thought "I can do this today" and then couldn't stand up after spitting in the sink during tooth-brushings. "I can't do this today," I said, and went back to bed.

Today is going to be an adventure of catch-up at the office. Yay for coffee. And ibuprofen. It's just silly that I can't have a bottle of wine here at my desk.

UPDATE: 15:55 and I am caught up. Whew.

You can have a bottle of wine at you desk. Just tell them it's a thermos of grape juice... technically, that's not a lie.

I think the slurred speech and pink nose would probably give it away, alas.

I'm a terribly obvious drunk.

Not as much as you think. I remember having to ask a couple times... "Is Lydia drunk?"

You could probably pull it off. ;)

I think this is a good plan.

I hope the day is kind to you and your back!

My job. It has a bell to tell us when to start working in the morning, another to excuse us to lunch, and then 60 minutes later another to bring us back from lunch to our desks. It's like being in school, except we stay until late at night. Yeah, there's no "you can go home now" bell.

Anyway, since it's so school-like, I frequently tell my nearby directors that it's time for a field trip. A BEER FIELD TRIP.

I don't know why they tolerate me. Some days the reverse is also true.

I do not think I could be happy in that work environment. WOW.
