Pocket

Our little hammie Hefner isn't doing so well. He keeps his right paw held up and won't use it unless he must. He dropped a blueberry (a yummy blueberry!) this weekend because he didn't want to use the paw to hold it. And running around in the ball is, obviously, right out.

[livejournal.com profile] mckitterick took this video a while ago, when Hefner was still all wiggly and at a youngster's level of friskiness. I wanted to share it with people before/if things get too sad. Please ignore the (embarrassing) conversation of the (inane) humans. If I had video editing software, I would've dubbed some music over so you all wouldn't have to listen to us. Just mute it. Seriously.

Another YouTube video, heads-up courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] stuology. You have to click the link because embedding is disabled. It's worth it, though. Everything's amazing, nobody's happy--Louis CK's comments on a spoiled population.

I finally ordered this Kate Beaton comic about Nikola Tesla.

Every time I even think about the damn thing, I giggle. Since reading it for the first time several months ago, I have been known to grasp my hair and cry aloud "Tesla!!!" at random moments. It's about time I laid down the money for it. Anyone who amuses me that much deserves twenty of my American Dollars.

Kate Beaton is amazing.

I wish I had the time to learn more about Canadian politics/history so I would get more of her jokes.

you know, i have always liked Nikola Tesla!

once i was up in chicago seeing Star. She took me to a soup kitchen and on our way there we passed by a homeless lady. She started spouting stuff out as we passed. I still remember it to this day... "And another thing, all the nuneries would be closed!" every once in a while i will just spout that out. No reason, just like the sound of it being said out loud....

It appears you aren't alone!

You got to admit that a man that took the time to create a death ray can't be all bad.... no wait that does make him a bad guy... (or at least a evil genius.

So, is that a hamster in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
:-P

I almost made that the title of the clip!

[identity profile] slinka.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Poor little guy. :(

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
How are your four-leggeds doing?

[identity profile] slinka.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
They're pretty good. Pooky is done her meds and she's regained some of her previous energy level. She should be going in for her second surgery in a week or so...

Bastian is lazy and Meggie is a sweetheart so they're status quo. I'll tell them you were asking about them. :)

I can't think about Tesla without thinking about

David AND Hugh! *sigh* :idly tosses knickers toward screen:

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. Maybe I should watch this movie sometime.

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
You ought to.
It's very well done, and the eye candy is worth it.
David Bowie brings a bit of sinister to Tesla that is appealing.
I admit,
I've watched it repeatedly.

Knickers!

[identity profile] slinka.livejournal.com 2009-03-06 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Bowie makes a very eerie and sexy Tesla.

There's a helluva lotta hawtness in that movie.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2009-03-06 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
With your bonus endorsement, I gotta see this now.

[identity profile] annamatic.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Bowie is eerie, sexy, hawt EVERY DAY. On the toilet. In his sleep. OMG.
