This morning I did the "Not Pilates at all but I needed a fancy name to market this exercise DVD" by Suhaila. It's basically her standard warm-up routine that she uses in her workshops. I don't feel like I got much of a workout, so I think this will be a program for low-level days. It's interesting, because I know when I did this warm-up at the workshop I took a few years ago, I had sweat dripping off my nose halfway through. Am I really in that much better shape now?

Have you ever taken a Zumba class? Have you seen what the "belly dance" section is? Hilarious!

I want to be mystified as to why Suhaila chose to market this as Pilates when she has a guaranteed customer base who'd purchase something called "Suhaila's basic workshop workout." But...I'm not mystified. At all. Alas.
If I knew nothing about bellydance and wanted a pilates workout from this, I'd be ticked off at the false advertising. Oh, wait...

Well damn. If I'd known all this time that it was the basic warm-up I'd have been doing it, lol! I'd been sort of afraid of it.
I'm glad you said something. I did the entire Buns DVD the other night and oddly, I was sore at the top sides of my hips. I guess my ass needs no warming up. ;)
Zumba is fun.. as long as you suspend everything you ever learned about bellydance and realize that it's probably not really Latin steps in there either. The best part is that you do sweat and keep moving, and the music is fun.
