When I couldn't do much more than sit on the couch last week, I re-read Dan Simmon's Hyperion and Fall of Hyperion. I remember thinking about Kassad "Nobody is that bad-ass. Nobody, no real person would actually fight the Shrike. Much less fight the Shrike with any chance of winning." (highlight text to read spoiler). Well, guess what. There are people that bad-ass. Last night I had dinner at Zen Zero with closer_to_fine and zerself. zerself ordered the flank steak and wasabi mashed potatoes, but it turned out to be a little of the wrong sort of spicy for her. I could have bathed in the stuff, though, so I traded her my green curry noodle leftovers. I get to have this flank steak for dinner tonight. Y-u-m.

I slept poorly again last night, and my office is very cold. Two people commented on the chill in here. Sleepy + cold = bad combo.

Today, then Friday, then: Vacation.

wasabi mashed potatoes sound FANTASTIC!I love garlic mashed potatoes, and wasabi ones sound even better. I had no idea that Zen Zero had anything like that.

I hope you are going to do something fun on your vacation. If you'd like to really be on vacation, we can put the food thing on hold.
