De-stress

It's been a week since I got the massage, and I'm sad to say it wasn't worth it for me. The massager-person was wonderful, skilled, friendly, etc., but as soon as I got dressed and headed home, the effects were already wearing off.

I know lots of people love their regular massage dates, but for me, it was not worth the $60 (plus 20% tip). I'd have been better off settling down for the night in my PJs with a bottle of wine and my kitty cat for company.

Which is what I'm doing tonight.

Next time I feel like treating myself (or making [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick treat me) to the tune of nearly $100, we are so going out for a swanky dinner instead.

I feel the same way about massages. I literally can feel myself knotting back up within 6 hours... yes, it's great for that time, but hardly feels worth it unless I'm actually experiencing some sort of medical problem.

I need to adjust the environmental factors before regular massages will make fiscal sense, to me.

Sorry to hear that, I've had great, good and so-so massages over the years.

I think you'd been better off with having someone come to your place so you could just slide off the table into the sofa.
I'm with you, wine makes me pretty relaxed. :)

Yeah, but I think it's just not going to stay, no matter what, you know? I mean, really, I would have been just as relaxed after half a bottle of good red. And I would've had $60. To go buy more wine later. =D

hee. Especially at Jensens.

But yah, without you having any chronic physical issues like I have, I can see why it wouldn't be as significant a difference in your condition.

I'm just a bit disappointed for you, too. I want everyone to have it make such a difference, but OTOH, no one else needs the issues that I have.

Make any sense to you?

Makes total sense, yep. And I was disappointed for me, too. I wanted it to be this life-changing experience! =D

Makes sense to me - L, I wish it had worked better for you, because it does make a huge difference to me. But if the wine works just as well - more power to you!

I had the same experiences with going to the chiropractor. The adjustment usually wouldn't hold long enough for me to get to my car. But, now I know it's because of the issues with my neck. Too bad I spent years and years of money at the chiropractor with him (them) saying, just a few more visits and you'll be fixed up.

I LOVE massages, and they have made a difference for me. But, it really depends on the masseuse (or masseur). I've had some that I felt was a waste of my money, and some that were fantastic. As soon as I get a little scratch, I'm going to treat myself to one.

The person who did my massage was absolutely awesome and I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wanted a strong, deep-tissue sort of experience.

Of course!

I've had the same experience with massage. It feels great while it's happening, but I'm in pain again within minutes of the actually massage ceasing.

It's not worth the money, but if I could afford it, I would do it just for that hour of relief/distraction.

If I could afford to get one every day, I think I'd see the benefits. =)
