Shows

I want to see this show so much. Not that it would, but if it ever came to the Lied Center? So there.

Speaking of shows, [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick and I went to see District 9 yesterday. Wow. Good movie. Not an easy movie, not a fun movie, but a good movie.

We saw previews for Zombieland and Legion. Barring faire-induced exhaustion, I'm likely to go see Zombieland in the theater. But I'm definitely going to catch 9 as close to opening day as possible.

We want to see Zombieland and 9, too! We can peer pressure each other into going. :D

Also, THE CATS!!!!

Yay! And yes, during the run, I will certainly need peer pressure to leave the house voluntarily.

Cat Circus would warrant a road trip. For real.

I think 9 comes out after the Faire run, so you'll be safe. Even if it did, I think it looks ridiculously amazing enough to draw you out to see it.

Nope, 9 opens on 9/9/09. Two days after opening weekend. nngngngngngn.

As a get-acquainted activity on the first day of school (today) I always ask students what movies they have seen recently. Division 9 got good reviews from teens. Oddly enough, they are a pretty good source, except when it comes to those sophomoric get-laid movies, which they think are hilarious and I have outgrown (if I ever even liked them).

I can see why teens would like it. It deals with issues like repression, outcasts, and powerlessness. It also has lots of explosions and people going *splat*. =D
