Thank you all for the kind words about the situation with Fetish Kitty. After the Feline Acne Debacle, I resolved that if she ever had a chronic illness that required me to give her a pill every day, we were going to...well...call it a day. The experience was miserable for both of us. There's nothing like having your beloved pet run away from you and hide every time you walk into a room or sit down near her. Ugh. It was heartbreaking. Injections will be easier.
I need to get a lot of sewing and handwork done quickly, so I chopped off my nails last night. I can sew with long nails, but it takes about twice as long. Even things like picking up a needle from the table take longer and I don't have time for things to take longer right now. I want to wear a new costume on Saturday, so off they went! Also, learning how to fill a syringe and give a shot will probably be easier without them.
I better I get the thing done or I'm going to be irked at myself and my pointlessly stubby nails.
The sleep problems caused by my antibiotic are starting to kick in. Yay!

heck yah. The shots are easier to manage.
Mum had a little mask to put on Sacha (it calms them when their eyes are covered), so the routine was:
Set out the syringe, swab, meds, bag of ringer, towel, mask.
Get Sacha, pet, snuggle, set him on the towel, then slip the mask on while petting and talking to him.
Once the mask was on, he'd be calm, and could not see the "fixin's" that were happning.
Inject meds, pet some more, inject fluids, pet more and more, put them out of sight while he still had the mask on.
Mask off, praise him and let him go rest/play/eat.

Good luck!
**I am glad I got the chance to see your nails while they were still long!

How often do you have to give her the injections? I'm sure as you both get used to it, it'll get quicker.
Poor Fetish, but I'm glad it's something that is easily (so to speak) remedied.
