Last night I went to the old Lovegarden store to pay my respects one last time and perhaps pick up a few bargain CDs. I wasn't expecting to find much, but I came home with some decent scores. And for cheep-cheep-cheep! All CDs (except for local band commission CDs) are 75% off, which makes most of the CDs under $2 each.

While I was shopping, I got a parking ticket. At 5:30 p.m.! I've never paid for the meters after 5:00. I was more shocked than annoyed--I figured I'd missed some local announcement seeing as I listen to KANU rarely and never pick up the LJ World. After more searching than should have been necessary, I finally found this article. The new rules have been in effect since August. Jeez. Color me oblivious. So now you know. Don't let it happen to you, friend! Oh, also the tickets are now $3 instead of $2.

Good thing I got such bargains at Lovegarden.

Speaking of downtown, tonight at Liberty Hall is the premiere public screening of It Starts With Murder. Doors open at 6:30 (conveniently past the new parking meter ticketing time!) and the show starts at 7:00. I'll see you there!

You're welcome. At first I thought "they really should have publicized this better," but I realized I wouldn't have seen anything less than a neon sign blinking on each and every meter.

At least it was an inexpensive bit of information to learn the hard way.

We got a ticket too due to complete ignorance that things had changed. I thoroughly read the LJWorld due to it's phenomenal journalism. I'm surprised I missed it.

I had no idea! I went downtown last night and didn't pay the meter since it was after 5pm, but laughed at the man shoving a quarter into the meter next to me. No ticket for me, but I guess I was just lucky.
