Can't sleep, coat will eat me

Awake since 4:15 this morning. Good times!

Worked on the coat. Found another problem. The pocket flaps don't fit the pockets. At least the problem is on the side of too big so I don't have to scrounge for fabric to re-cut the things.

Unreal.

How does Reconstructing History patterns stay in business? Is this their only pattern that is so seriously flawed?

Oh, oh...so I left a message on the actual Reconstructing History website, like the pattern designer said I should do when I had such a time getting the mods on the yahoo group to approve my initial query message. I did that last week, asking her advice on the shoulder seam issue.

*cricket*cricket*

Good customer service, my ass. On the plus side, I think this will be a lovely garment once I figure out how to solve all the problems from the pattern.

I'm going to start drinking as soon as the sun comes up in hopes of catching a nap before too late in the afternoon.

Update: Thanks to the cloud cover, it took an inordinately long time to get daylight. I'm just now (at 7:20) getting my Bailey's. Sheesh.

Vacation...

Isnt' vacation where you get away from stress?

I suggest stabbing them with a fork.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, right?

But I have only myself to blame here...except for the not-sleeping part. That was 100% not my fault. Sigh.

And then eating them?

[identity profile] miischelle.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
No. Judging from their poor quality product, I can only surmise that they are therefore made of poor quality product and that's not anything anyone should be putting into their bodies.
Might as well eat a Twinkie.

No no no....I think stabbing is sufficient.

We started drinking again around 10am. :D

Sorry it sucks so badly. I'm not sure there are tons of other options tho. I've some images of period documents that might help... Tho I wouldn't be surprised if they were the source of what you have.

Ha ha ha ha ha!!!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Woo!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Hon, you had no idea. Don't worry about it. At this point, I am bound and determined to make a stunning garment out of this pattern. I've put too much work into it to back down now!

This is why I wanted to make one for me first, to figure out all the problems. By the time I get to yours, it should be a cakewalk.

I started with Jameson's in my morning tea. I then did a bit of cleaning, bleached my hair out again, helped Jbird move the new compost around (read: bossed him about and handed him a beer when it was over), and now I'm going to eat lasagna and drink red wine. Lather, rinse, repeat. :)

That pattern deserves nothing less than burning but after all the effort to figure it out, maybe it should be framed.

I've got a Reconstructing History pattern for a "poet's shirt" that was all but impossible to follow. All this time, I was convinced I was an idiot!

Oh darling, no. No, it's not you.
