I'm still seeing halos around bright objects (like computer screens) so no description post of the surgery yet. mckitterick made a video with our digital camera of the left eye surgery, so as soon as I find our memory card reader to download that, I'll put it up on YouTube for you all. It's pretty awesome. Thank you, mckitterick for thinking to do that!

Since it's pretty overcast today, I'm going to get out and run some errands. So if you're on the roads in Lawrence today, watch out for the red Crossfire! The eye doctor says I'm safe to drive, but it still seems a little weird.

Last night I had a moment of ugh-don't-wanna about ConQuesT. I'm not satisfied with the masquerade costume, I'm worried about eating appropriately (in ways that won't make me feel like ass), and I just wasn't feeling up to the whole thing. The exhaustion from the surgery was a big factor, too. I had no idea how tiring the recovery would be. I thought I was being a little wimpy taking two days off work for it, but no. It's taking a lot out of me.

But I realized if I skipped the con, I'd miss hanging with belluthien, jimmyhollaman, kalimeg, orrin and tama_grey. That's a lot of cool people to skip out on.

Uh-oh. Looks like the sun is trying to break through. I'd best get showered and on the road before things get too brilliant out there.

Honestly, we're probably going to have to skip out ourselves, at least from the con proper, due mostly to current money woes and other factors. Might try to make it down for hanging out in the bar or possibly for this room con thing or something, though, because we'd love to see you guys.

I had my eyes lazered in 2000. I think by the same doctor you went to. He used to be with Durrie, if I'm not mistaken.
I remember how long it took to recover, but how cool it was to be able to see w/out glasses.
I'm still loving living w/out glasses. :)

I hope to see you this weekend, but will understand if you cannot. Mr. Recluse has been quieted, but let me know if you DO decide to back out. In that case Mr. Recluse might gain the upper hand...
