I love the idea of buying an American kid this alphabet poster for the Basque language.
I've been remiss in not pimping for Yelp around here. When
razorart and
charmed_art first started their siren call about it, I was all "Eh, whatev." But now I'm hooked. Some people use it as a social site, but for me, it's all about the reviews. I get to praise or bemoan a wide assortment of establishments--food, shopping, services--and read what other people thought of those and other places. For someone who likes to spend money locally, this is a great way to find out who deserves your dollar. It's also an opportunity to talk up your own favorites and perhaps get them a little extra business. Check it out. My profile is here. Go forth and Yelp!
My body temperature is all sorts of fucked up right now. I'm comfortable at work most of the time (I should ask if other people are warm, because if they are, it would explain that part), and I've awakened nearly every night this week because I was boiling hot. It's very uncomfortable. Maybe this is the T3 medication kicking in? I get my blood test in about two weeks to see how I'm responding to the liothyronine.
I feel like ass today. My stomach is upset and I have a headache. I'm exhausted. I feel hungry, but the smell of food is unappetizing. I think I might be approaching That Time of the Month, but I forgot to mark my start date for May (grrr), so I can't do an accurate day count. The headache is starting to turn towards dizziness, and I imagine the nausea will kick in soon after. Great.
I signed up to take part in an experiment for the Neurolinguistics department and my session is at 6:00 p.m. tonight. They're doing passive measurement of brain waves using an EEG machine while I complete a computer-based reading task. It sounded kind of cool. I get to wear a swim cap with electrodes on my head. But I don't want to do a two-hour computer test experiment feeling like this.

This would actually be great. My children can't rhyme either because I teach them using this song:
