Mark today as a loss
I am at home today because I feel like ass from my eyeballs to my hips.
I need to get some food because our refrigerator is bare. I don't imagine I'll manage to muster the energy to do so. I suspect we'll have scrambled eggs for dinner.
After reading the PāNu post that
adammaker linked today, I've decided I'm not waiting until August to give up artificial sweeteners. I'm giving them up today.
*pause for applause*
I think/hope that this will help with the doughnut cravings. Dear god please let it help with the doughnut cravings.
Last night, I was distressed to discover I've lost my perfect shift dress pattern. The one I made three times until I got a perfect muslin that was adjusted for all my figure idiosyncracies. It doesn't look like the pattern is still in print, either. Much sadness. I could make a pattern off the dress I still have, but I don't remember how to sew the armhole/neckline facing. I remember there was something weird about it, but I can't figure it out from looking at the garment itself. It's been too long. I might go to the fabric store (but not today!), see if there is a similarly constructed dress pattern, and buy it for just the instructions.
Why in the world would a pattern company discontinue a princess-seamed shift dress? Seems like it would be a nice basic wardrobe staple to keep in the lineup. I guess my idea of "wardrobe staple" differs from that of the Big Three. Hmph.
Yesterday I figured out how to keep the hoop up. I'm keeping it up more than 50% of the time now. Someone else needs to make the dirty joke on that, because I just don't have the energy.

I'm about to leave my house. If you would like anything, I can pick up some stuff for you while I'm out. You can give me a call.

I really wish I was in that group of people who can't stand them. It would make this a lot easier.
Thank you for the cheers! They help. I told

If I wind up having eggy-weggs for dinner, I'll think of you and try to appreciate them. =)

I'm sorry my first thought was "When one's ass feels like ass, is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
Hope you feel better soon.

I'm not giving up artificial sweetener, which I indulge in a couple times a week. It doesn't give me carb cravings, so I don't see the harm. (Instruct me otherwise, if you like--I haven't read much about it.)
Also, I did my first full-fledged yoga class tonight, and I am quite sore. :)

I only have food in the house because my mom is visiting and she is a total mother hen who cooks for us like whoa.

I envy you!
Congratulations on the yoga. Yay!!!!

Lucky you, with your food and all. I managed to pull an "eh" casserole together last night, but it wasn't anything to (heh heh) write to mother about.

I think that artificial sweeteners can trigger insulin release and fat retention.
I think I make myself not like them.
I sorta miss my grandmother's iced tea with lemon and pink saccharin. ODD.

Yeah, my mom made iced tea with The Pink Stuff, too. Mmmm.

Rock on with your disciplined self.

These youtube videos below only touch on a couple of his philosophies. These are about cravings (the beginning of #1 made me say "duh," but I promise it gets better). If you want to know more I'd suggest looking him up as I am doing.

IMO, if you need to eat frequently to keep your blood sugars up, something is wrong with your blood sugar.
