Ha! Thank you! I'm incredibly proud of that coat. I'm also proud of the fact that I didn't break character, even when I went up to claim my Best In Show award. Poor Inger (the masquerade hostess). She was a good sport about my being an asshole to her. =D

I do have lace left, yes! I also have some new white lace that I want to dye, if you wanna try that out with me.

Yep, the A is only affixed with the safety pins (appropriate and convenient). It looks so good on there, though, I hate to take it off. =D

Seriously, though, now that I've figured out all the pattern weirdness, it's a pretty easy thing to sew. We will need to do a couple fittings for you to figure out the underarm gussets. Other than that, I don't anticipate many problems on yours. If you really do want two, we can work something out.

The button fabric is green/burgundy silk dupioni, so yes, there's a slight color shift depending on your angle. It was perfect for that coat fabric.

I didn't see that photo shoot, no. Thank you for giving me the heads-up on it. Wow! That guy's pretty hot. Rawr. I love photos of people smoking.

Hm. She didn't use a pattern for Julien's jacket. She drafted it. The pattern I used for this was Reconstructing History and it sucked ass.

I used incorrect terminology; the images and diagram posted is what I was looking for. I have had some of my costume books go astray over the years. Drafting from such is definitely what I am accustomed to doing. Thanks for pointing the way.

Yeah, Reconstructing History does suck ass but you did it beautifully. Erm, that didn't come out quite right but you know what I mean.

I think I'm done with Steampunk now. I was done with it in 2008, really, but I couldn't pass up the chance to take one more pot-shot when KaCSFFS chose it as the theme for this year's con.

mckitterick and I took a short trip to Mickey's this weekend to get him some new boots and they've got some pretty new gas masks in stock. At $40 a pop, though, a bit more than I'm willing to spend at the moment. Alas.

Cast aside the gasmask, by the by. If I can't get you doing the chola demon-binder (I'll have to send you the full script for The Warlock's Tale, as I'm ridiculously pleased with it), you should just pop over to pitchaweek.wordpress.com and choose a pitch that makes for good costuming.

That being said... poodle skirt, cat's-eye glasses and blood chitted fatigue jacket. That or the Rodinapunk thing that stevenkaye put forth. Instant win.
