This is just a run-down of my Saturday, which ran me down
This is my last Sunday morning before KCRF starts. Selfishly, I am happy that
mckitterick isn't awake yet, and I've had over an hour to myself. Just me, and the internet, and coffee, and silence.
I am very much appreciating the calm. Yesterday was crazy busy.
miischelle's Bellydance Salon from nine to noon was fantastic and ass-kicky. I think I mentioned last time she did a salon that it could have been a little more intense. This one was. Especially the Back To Basics portion, which just about made my arms fall off. I was feeling all hot shit about my Fantastic Arms until then. During and after, I just felt like a big pussy. Good God, my deltoids and lats hate me today.
Fortunately for me, I have a good friend in
roya_spirit who graciously offered up use of the hottub before my afternoon appointment. That was a lifesaver. I think it's entirely likely that I wouldn't have use of my arms today were it not for that hour-long soak. She also made and delivered to me an amazing chicken that convinced
mckitterick to buy me a little oven for making such things. Woohoo!
My afternoon appointment was: A Haircut! I returned to my old stylist who cut my hair when it was an inch short, and has seen the grow-out progression at the three trim-ups I've gotten since I stopped keeping it short. She did a faboo job with the cut, and once it was finished, she showed me how it looked just blow-dried and then curled with a curling iron. Very thoughtful, in my opinion. It'll be interesting to see how it air-dries--which is, probably, how I'll be wearing it most of the time.
The curled version looks fantastic (very 70s-era Jacklyn Smith) and I would like to do that style often, but I am not dealing with a curling iron. I think I can manage hot-rollers. I don't suppose anyone on my f-list has a set of hot rollers they don't want anymore?
Photo of hair tomorrow, when I can get the pic off the camera.
After haircut, I ran some errands, including getting non-poison eggs from the Merc, some new food storage containers from Kohl's, and a tube of Too Faced eyeshadow primer because my eyelids are not what they used to be, and even if they were, my eyemakeup always takes a beating on hot days at KCRF.
I tried out the Shadow Insurance (and showed off the new hair) at a friend's going away party that evening. The hair got rave reviews. I was very happy. And it doesn't look bad this morning, even! There's still a lot of bounce and curl and if I finger-comb it, it doesn't get all frizzy. Awesome. I'm so glad I didn't let her use hairspray on it. It's been a long time since I've had to deal with next-morning hair-spray hair. I'd like to continue that trend.
There are just a few errands I have to run today, but most of my last free Sunday is going to be spent lounging and cuddling and maybe begging for a couple back/arm rubs.

And this morning was my first intense lower-body-only workout, so my legs hate me too, now.

And if you want eggs straight from the free-range chicken I can supply them--at least during the run of faire if the distance from Lawrence to Bonner is prohibitive. $2/dozen from one of our 4-H kids.

I'm so pleased you liked my chicken. Plain curry powder rub and NO Salt, despite what the cookery places tell you about salting the cavity.. don't ever do it!

Dude that chicken was fucking awesome. Thanks for the tip on no salt in the body cavity.

It's the same with steaks.. you'll see places saying to salt a steak before grilling it, but all that does is pull the moisture out. I figured out that it would do the same to bird.
