Columbus Day!

I was unable to sleep from about midnight until nearly four this morning. I cleaned the kitchen, straighted the sewing room, puttered about, showered (so I wouldn't have to waste time doing it before leaving for faire this morning), and then drowsed fitfully until 7:30 (an hour and ten minutes before my alarm was set to go off). Good times!

I'm not getting down about it, though, because since today is Columbus Day*, I can enjoy my coffee with coconut milk and, in about thirty minutes, scrambled eggs. And maybe some squash croquettes. Mmmm. I can bloat up to the size of the Michelin Man today and it does not matter. \m/ >_< \m/

Added bonus: We're delaying our start time to let the current rain system pass through. This means I might be able to squeeze in a nap after coffee and breakfast. My favorite!

It's going to be a good day.

* My group's traditional day to go out to KCRF in civvies and get blotto

Edit: Oh, oh, oh! I forgot to mention: I felt like my dancing at Smoker yesterday was awesome. Afterward, several patrons (some whom I knew, some whom I didn't) confirmed. The people who've seen me dance before at Smoker said it was the best they'd ever seen me dance (at Smoker**). So. Yay! I feel good about that.

** I don't consider what I do at Smoker "belly dancing." It's more "constant shimmy with a few isolations and neat tricks whilst whoring for tips."

Please have a drink for me!

And I need to remember your good attitude for later...
If I am going have reactions to food, and i plan for it and accept it, then it is time to just rock right along.

We shall raise a plastic cup in your honor, sir!

I've been working on my attitude a lot. The external changes are slowly coming along, and now it's time to look at the emotional stuff. I am working to incorporate that old adage about not being able to change an event, only one's reaction to it. No reason that shouldn't apply to my own body.

Hooray for positive attitude!

Radical acceptance! Not always easy to do.

I hope the rain didn't make it too dreary for you at the fair today.

It was not-rainy and still overcast (so no humidity) by noon. It was perfect!

You were fantastic yesterday at Smoker. People all around us were commenting how great you were when you did your sets. :)

Don't forget, as a tribute to Columbus' original activities, you're able to gain a commission from any neighbor, regardless of their allied status with your own home, travel to any neighborhood which you've never previously visited, claim it in the name of the un-allied neighbor, and then subjugate the local populace while searching for gold that probably doesn't exist. Spreading disease and useless religious baggage will gain you extra points, but should be considered entirely optional goals in the endgame.

Nice to hear about the dancing, and hope the Day of Patronage was great fun for you.
