It's a wrap
KCRF is in the bag. In my case, it's in the big plastic bin soon to be shoved to the back of the newly-cleaned sewing room closet.
I made some good contacts this year through my dancing at Smoker and if things go well, I'll be increasing my bellydance presence in the area. I feel like I'm coming to this game kinda late, so I'm nervous. But excited!
I must make business cards and get publicity photos.
Smoker staff and regular patrons made comments about my improved dancing this year. I don't feel my dancing has changed or gotten better, but maybe that's a good thing. It feels natural, like I've always done it this way. At least I think that's good. Some of the percieved improved dancing can be attributed to me simply being stronger. Everything looks more fluid and controlled when the muscles driving the movement are capable of bearing the burden and then some. Mostly, though, I owe a debt of gratitude to
miischelle, whose workshops and classes made me practice dance more often, and made me think about it again. Because her dance style is so different from mine, I usually have to dissect a new movement or combo and ask myself (or her) "Where does this start? What drives the movement? What muscles shouldn't be involved here?"
Also, special note to
miischelle: Those combo/transition dice? They are fancy-baby awesome.
Note to myself and others following along in the Food Issues game: Now that faire is over and it doesn't matter so much if I have belly bloat, I'm going to re-introduce kefir into my diet. Time to start working on improved gut flora. I haven't had dairy products since July 31! We'll see how this goes. Trainer Chris D told me about a recent study that showed improved fat loss in women's lower belly, buttocks, and thighs when they aggressively treated an imbalance in gut flora. I'm going to do some digging today to see what I come up with. If anyone already knows about this study and knows the name or has a link, let me know.
I very much want more coffee (and to switch over the laundry), but I have a (very affectionate and happy) cat on my lap.

I'm sorry we didn't come to see you yesterday, we went early and pooped out shortly after 1PM, but thank you so much for the ticket! Saw Paulie and he was very excited about having a new contact for dance gigs. I think you have no problem with "coming to the game late" at all, I did most of my busiest times with dance gigs between 40 and 44 :) and mum did so even later, since she only started her 'gram biz at the age of 44. And then, of course, there's ageless and timeless Zaina, eh?

Yes, but I can't afford her methods of agelessness. =D

Actually, it probably does because that room was filled with untrained eyes such as mine--hopefully a lot of which were appreciative tippers.
