Unhappy body
I wasted my time and money at the podiatrist yesterday. Very frustrating. The x-rays look fine (duh--neuromas don't show on an x-ray) and he said the best they could do would be a cortisone shot. I asked about preventative stuff and he said sensible shoes (hardy har har). OK, that's fine, but what about the fact that I can't stand on the balls of my feet or dance barefoot? Um, sorry. No suggestions other than cortisone shots. Thanks, but no fucking thanks. My nana had a neuroma in her foot a couple years ago and the doctor suggested mega doses of vitamin A for a couple weeks. I'll be getting the details from her on that.
Oh, and I got another splitting migrane that started late afternoon yesterday and peaked around 7:30 p.m. The Cafergot didn't touch it. This wasn't the worst headache I've ever had, but it was the first time I've ever become nauseated from one. When I took out my contacts, I noticed that my nose and cheeks were bright red. That happened when I got the bad one in California back in May, too. Interesting.
0verdrive was a lifesaver and poked at the pressure spots on my head and face for about 15 minutes so I could get just enough relief to fall asleep.
I'm still feeling a little heavy-headed today and I can't turn my head quickly or it starts to pound a bit. A couple people have mentioned the current weather fluctuations might bring on a migrane, which I hadn't considered. Joy. Another reason to live in the desert.
My nose is a bit red today, but I don't know if that's a residual effect or a harbinger.

Worth a shot anyway. I know it's seemed to help me.

Re: Migraine(s): Have you an allergy? I've had the experience that exposure to certain allergans (for me, cottonwood. My friend, eating walnuts) causes this very same reaction (red, swollen parts of face, pounding headache, sickness), and you mentioned some sort of "flu-like" illness, which always seems to predict for me the onset of severe allergies.
My solution: anti-histamines and decongestants.
And, yes, all very good reasons to live in the desert. I've thought about the Carson City/Reno area of Nevada. If you're interested, we could chat about developing a troupe for moving out there. ;)
Take care, feel better soon. *hugs*

Alas, no deserts in my future as
