Oh, for godssakes.

I had high hopes of feeling all better today. Which I did, before I got out of bed. I made it downstairs (clinging to the wall all the way), remembered that all my clothes were still upstairs, and by the time I was halfway back up the stairs--

Heading. Pounding. Pain.

So I called in sick (again). Maybe I'll feel better by this afternoon. Right now I can't imagine walking up the hill to get to the office.

What is the deal? This is just crazy. I've never had a headache last for three days.

Well, I can certainly cross caffeine withdrawal off the 100% culprit list. It was probably a factor on Sunday, but I'm betting now it's weather-related. And perhaps some allergy issues?

Hm. I'll go take a Zyrtec now.

Oh, hey. So I looked out the back door when I got my pill, and it's all overcast. So, after yesterday's sunny-sunny-sunshine, yeah. It must be the change in the weather. *sigh*

I have so much sympathy for this experience. I think allergy pills are a good bet. When I get multi-day headaches, even if it's not allergies, at least a benadryl will knock me out a little.

I've had a lot of these in recent months. My dad suggested I might be having cluster migraines. Fun. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_headache

Holy shit. Okay, I'm really lucky that my headaches do not fit that description. Mine are "head squeezed in a vise while my sinuses and brain swell to near-exploding at the same time."

No hot pokers in the eye. Thankfully.

Usually, though, I'm all better when I wake up after a good sleep. This three-day headache binge is just weird. But, as I mentioned to Miss M, above, I bet the weather is playing a huge part. And there's not much I can do about that.

Things that sometimes work for me:

3 Advil Liquigels + 1 12-hour Sudafed

or

3 Advil Liquigels + 1 12-hour Sudafed + caffeine

or

1 Imitrex 100mg (only if it's early in the headache though)

or

1 Imitrex 100mg + 2 Advil + 1 12-hour Sudafed

I feel your pain--literally. As I'm getting older weather changes really screw with me. I'm having more frequent, though less intense, migraines. Hope you find the right pharmaceutical cocktail to kill yours.

I don't know that there's any legal drugs that are gonna help (I've tried all the legal ones so far). But as soon as I get this thyroid/autoimmune stuff licked, I'm gonna return to acupuncture for my sinus issues.
