Nana
My nana had an incident yesterday where she almost fell in the grocery store when her leg went numb. This morning, they confirmed that it was a stroke. She still has no feeling in her left leg, and her tongue is lagging slightly to the left, but she has no other speaking problems and her mental faculties aren't touched. The doctor is recommending a two-week stay in the hospital of "acute therapy" where they work on some form of physical therapy with her for three hours a day.
My parents are joking with her that this whole event is her way of avoiding the hip replacement that she was due to undergo at the end of the month.
Poor Nana.
I'm glad I'm already scheduled to go to Indy next weekend.
Oh! I almost forgot. This sign was posted on an outside wall of Wescoe this morning.

WIN.

And what do you think those people mean by "MFW (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=MFW)"? I vote for #6.

What a relief that you are already going to visit.

Seriously, though, yeah. On all counts.

Still...

Everyone on both sides of my immediate family has died of a stroke. Not a heart attack or cancer death among us.

Take some turmeric (http://drpinna.com/dr-meercola-on-repairing-strokes-16626)with you on your visit?

This is my last grandparent and she's a good'un. The world's a better place with her in it and I'd selfishly prefer she be around for quite a while longer.

I know that feeling.
Enjoy your visit, and I'm glad it was mild!

We might not be able to do the crosswords at the dining room table per usual this visit, but apparently she's got a stack of them at the hospital right now. The fact that she's already doing crosswords fewer than 24 hours after the stroke = Really Good Sign.

And that sign is made of WIN!

And yeah, that sign is made of 100% MFW! Or, at least, so I'm told.

That is a hilarious sign. But, what is "100% MFW"? I googled and everything. I can't figure it out!
