Zero-Sum
"What really gets me is the confidence he seems to have that one day he will be able to shed all of the fears and anxieties that are hardwired into his DNA and the modern world will decide to stop being unrelentingly brutal and allow him some happiness," said coworker Miles Sagal, adding that the delusional Peterson inexplicably presumes that this not only could, but should, occur. "Whenever he's feeling low, he'll allude to some time down the road when he'll have it all 'figured out.' When exactly does he think that will happen?"
"Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with this guy?" Sagal added. "He's aware that he's going to die, right?"
Love.
Speaking of life being hopeless and full of despair, I packed up my office four-cup coffeepot and filters this morning. The CSSF writing workshoppers can use it during the summer. This is me, not being bitter. At all. Really.
God Damn It.

"HAPPINESS:
I want it. Or at least I want for everybody not to die."
Talking about different things, but still. Tee hee.

Srsly. I demand happy endings in my fiction, unless there is a really super damn good reason to give me an unhappy ending. Why? Because life is shitty and I get enough of it in the news and looking at the world around me. I don't want to spend my leisure time reading or watching downer stuff.
