Transition, please

Even though it's not supposed to break 70 degrees until Thursday (and even then, it's supposed to be 70-something and raining) and even though it was chilly this weekend and even though I knew I would probably regret it for several days, I packed up my winter clothes yesterday. I couldn't reconcile to my psyche the idea that it was halfway through May and I was still wearing wool blend skirts and sweaters.

My summer clothes are now hung up in the closet. I know I'll be layering and shivering through the next week, but I could not face another week of winter wardrobe.

Commiserate with me, my lovelies, about this crap cold weather. All you winter-lovers can just be quiet and sit on your hands for a little while.

My face is still peeling from last weekend's sunburn, ferfuxake. I went and worked in the garden yesterday, while the kids packed up their Definitely Winter clothing. "Mom," one of them told me, "no way am I wearing anything with snowflakes on it in MAY."

It's even cold in Vegas this spring. I actually contemplated making CHILI today!

I think we've hit 90 maybe twice. I've had the a/c on a couple days, since my bedroom is upstairs and west-facing and heats up like a mofo, but last night, I even had to turn the ceiling fan off and shut the windows.

I got marooned last Friday in a light shirt and sandals. I was in such deep denial that *I*, NOAA addict, simply did not check the weather. I froze my ass off.

The one thing I don't mind about it being cool is that my light bill has been reasonable. I am not looking forward to the $300 em-effer I will see in August.

Provided the world doesn't end on Saturday, which would be rad, except it won't happen. Again.

I'm here in a long-sleeved T-shirt, warm PJ pants, and no socks though my feet are cold. MY FEET ARE COLD. WHY.

I want warm weather so bad. I want to open my windows and feel warm air. I want to make sun tea and not have it be iced sun tea until I stick it in the fridge. I want to wear my cute sundresses.

WTCat is up with this cold! For fucks' sake, haven't we put in our time? [points to January & February and glares @ weather] I was all pumped up to wear a pretty green dress to an event on the day the temperature plummeted back into insanity. I almost cried.
