Smoker rules

FYI, for you people planning to come out to Smoker this year. Peterson, the faire owner, changed the rules on us this weekend. No longer do you get your choice of two beers and a cigar or three beers. Everyone is limited to two drinks, unless you want to pay for your third. $5 for Guinness or Smithwick's, $4 for Miller Lite, and I think $4 for wine, nottygypsy correct me if I'm wrong on that. You can get two cigars and one beer, though, if you want.

So that's really awesome, and another shining example of how festival ownership makes the concerns and happiness of its patrons a priority.

In other news, the show itself is still great. Thank you, fantastic Smoker Cast and Crew.

Edit: nottygypsy has confirmed that those prices are correct.

But I'm glad to hear it's going well anyway.

We made an early day of it on Monday and had a super time, we brought Margeaux since he hadn't been and he enjoyed himself tremendously.

I have pause about it honestly, although I still think the cost of admission for the entertainment alone is decent. I just don't *want* a cigar and feel a bit cheated by having to take something I don't want to get the same value/cost ratio as other patrons at the same event.
Has anyone suggested a discounted price for those who don't take a cigar? I'd do it, but I raised enough ruckus two years ago about the lack of tables.

The cast (and some patrons) have said for years that they just need to raise the ticket price. That would solve the problem of them supposedly losing money on the three beer thing. But the owner refuses to raise the price.

Having two different ticket prices would be a nightmare for Smoker staff.

Oh, I meant a discounted price on the additional drinks, but thinking about it, that would also be hard to track.

Considering it's a minimal pour cost per 12 oz cup of beer, he's being penny-foolish.

I wrote to the KCRF management and told them that I don't want a cigar (don't smoke) and would rather they raise the price so I can get my three drinks! I suggest you do the same, and everyone else who wants such.

Taking a soda out with me would be okay, but not at the end of the day.
