Don't go away mad, baby...
This damn cold (and I do think it's a cold, since it's now settled down into my throat and chest, huzzah and cheers) kept me home from work on Monday and pretty much kept me from working on Tuesday, although I was physically in the office. Today I'm a bit more functional, but tired, oh so tired, and I completely forgot to bring any food at all with me so I am also fasting in addition to the tired.
Good times.
mckitterick was under the weather on Monday, too, but of course he is nearly over it himself. Lucky speedy healer.
It was not optimal for us to be ill at the same time, as
mckitterick is very much the needy-clingy type when he doesn't feel well. He's much more inclined than I am toward that disposition in general life, so it's not surprising.
However, it is supremely annoying when we are both sick and his desire to coddle and cuddle conflicts with my general response to illness--which is more along the lines of a feral animal. Leave me the fuck alone. I don't want you to bring me water or Emergen-C, must you sit so damn close to me on the couch, and why can't you please just be quiet what is with all the talking?
Sometime Monday afternoon, he asked me how I was doing. When I looked up at him through my crusty, bleary eyes and croaked out "Shitty," he wrapped me up in his arms and asked what he could do for me. I told him, "Leave me alone?"
To his credit, he did so. For nearly an hour.
We do not mesh well when we are ill.

I am lucky that I don't think I'm getting whatever Lou's got. He curbs his needy-touchy because he knows if I get sick it'll be 10 times worse, so he limits himself to "bring me, get me, help me". I think getting the flu shot will hopefully prevent this from getting me too.

He, on the hand, is very much hands off when he doesn't feel well. It conflicts with my nurturing nature but I do my best.
Regardless, I hope you feel much better quickly. We do not want either of you sick.

Or "Serve me, now go away." Which...is kind of what I'm like most of the time.

When I'm sick, housework just doesn't get done. I'm cool with that. =D
