Planner

We're in the final quarter of the year and for me that means two things: 1) I need to bolster myself against the winter blahs, and 2) I need to buy a new planner.

For years, I've used the Time.Mine planners because they're cute, simple, have lots of space for jotting down notes and to-do lists, and I could buy one with a 40% coupon at Borders. That last one isn't an option anymore, so I'm looking at what else is out there in the way of daily planners. Paper-and-pen planners, that is. I'm not ready to make the jump to an electronic one. What brand of planner do you use, and why do you like it?

Helpful advice and opinions are appreciated!

Mine is from Target - it's basically a mini binder and I just refill pages as time moves on. They have several size options, and the pockets are pretty handy.

Yeah, I was thinking of yours when I started considering new options. The pockets seem like a really good idea.

pockets? Tell me more of these pockets.

I'm also in the market. I have a Palm and I used it for a long time with pretty good results once I determined to go electronic. Now I have an iPhone and the calendar on it is pretty useless for me. So I'm going back to paper and pen. (I'm a visual memory so it works best for me.) I like the 5x8 size or slightly smaller, but not the pocket size--not enough room--and use month at a glance.

They're just little ... ziplock bags? That clip into the binder system. Like a pencil-holder bag in your high school Trapper Keeper. =D

Mine has pockets build into the binder part - you can tuck in business cards or notes or whatever, and there's a sleeve thing.....

Kind of like this:

A good deal of the students who worked with us liked the Uncalendar line (http://www.uncalendar.com/index.jsp). They used to sell them at the Union Bookstore, I don't know if they still do or not.

I hope their product is better than their website. D=

If I have time to swing by the bookstore tomorrow, I'll see if they still carry them, and check them out in person.

haha! I agree about the website. It seemed it was a pretty basic system, that was arrangeable however one wanted it. I think it's a bit pricey for the refills.
I was interested in it, but not enough to actually try it.

When I was using a paper planner, I had a partner who copied and made fresh pages for me, from the blanks of Outlook Calendar pages, sized them to fit my discount store binder, and even hole-punched them for me.

Sometimes I miss him ;)

You can get Time.Mine from Amazon.

Thanks, Tina. I can order directly from the manufacturer, too. I'm asking what other people use and like.

Since I use my phone I'm no help at all!

Moleskine 12-month weekly planners. Wonderful paper. 2012 will be my sixth one. :)

Thank you! I'll take a look at them.

I can let you peek at mine next time I'm in the office. They're the nicest calendars I've ever used, and they're made by a good company.

Ooh, yes, thanks! I'll be back in the office tomorrow.

I teach at the Edwards campus tomorrow, but I'll stop in Thursday morning before my 9:30 class. :)
