Like a Boss*
After viewing my workwear ensemble yesterday morning, I felt uncomfortably like a brownshirt, but it was too late to pick out a new outfit and I didn't want to wake
mckitterick by rustling around in the closet. This is a long and unnecessary story to explain why today's xkcd was especially funny to me.
Because goddamn, the Nazis were super sharp dressers in addition to being amazing scientists and horrifying monsters. And speaking of clothing and fashion, today is
auroraceleste's Creative Chat Day. So!

This Week's Topic:
What is your favorite fabric to work with?
I love working with lightweight wool, even though I don't use it very often. It's so solid and comforting. I love how forgiving it is, how it stays where you want it and doesn't shift under your scissors or between the foot and feed dogs. I love how you can almost sculpt with it, given the appropriate application of steam and pressure.
Although I do not like winter (at all), I vastly prefer fall/winter fashion. If I could live somewhere that never got below freezing, but still had temps in the 40s and 50s during the winter months, that would be fantastic. Does such a place exist? Because I'd be all over that. Hello, my lovely jackets and boots! How wonderful to wear just them and not cover up with scarves, coat, and multiple layers of stockings/socks/legwarmers.

Wow.
It's become something totally different, then.
I was thinking along the lines of sharp dressing, of course.
But now...
I am enlightened in ways I cannot describe, some of which I wish I could unsee. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NisCkxU544c) (NSFW for some audio)

2. How do you like RAIN? Portland weather is pretty mild. I'm with you on cold weather...oh, what about Northern California?

I think I could survive rain if it meant no ice and snow. I'm not willing to have rain that turns into ice and snow, though. I've got that now, and it blows.

Does get above 90degrees but no humidity. We don't get anything as gross as that day I was visiting you!
Just sayin'.
