That wasn't so bad. That was the penicillin.

Holy crap, this is an amazing cosplay Tenth Doctor.

I have a new fave Tumblr. This is the funniest one I've seen so far, but this one is my favorite because of the meta.

The visit to Indy was...a visit to Indy. Daddy was sick and slept most of the time I was there. Poor guy. He was able to stay awake long enough on Saturday evening to watch Captain America. I figured he'd like it because there's no sex and no f-bombs in it. Finding a movie that my father and I both might enjoy is very difficult. I was tired the entire time. I'm tired a lot lately, though. The amphetamines aren't working anymore.

Last night I went to my first Crossfit Elements class--where they take baby beginner Crossfitters and show us basic moves and give us an abbreviated Workout of the Day (I'll be calling these WODs, as that's what they call them in Crossfit and I'm not typing out Workout of the Day all the time). Last night's WOD was a ten-minute AMRAP (As Many Reps/Rounds As Possible). The movements were medicine ball slams (five), lunges with a ten-pound plate held overhead (ten total--so five per leg, but alternating), and body-weight squats with the lowest point of the squat being your ass touching your medicine ball (fifteen sweet baby jesus fifteen). I got about two and a half rounds in ten minutes. After round one, my legs simply would not lift me up anymore and I had to take five or ten second breaks. Keep in mind, the WOD was at the very end of the session, after we'd been practicing these movements and doing a jumping warm-up thing for about half an hour.

I still had fun, though, and felt good going home. Then I tried to get out of the car. [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick said he could hear me laughing all the way from the carport--and he was inside the house, watching a movie. Oh, man. I couldn't feel my legs. Crazy. I'm a little stiff today, and I bet I'll really be feeling it tomorrow--when I'm scheduled to go back for my second Elements class. Good times!

Point of pride: I think I was the oldest person there. \m/ >_< \m/

Point of concern: I am super unmotivated at the office right now today this week at all. Blah.

Fantastic report! Love that you've found something you can love/hate/accomplish. It sounds like an intense workout and I'm betting tomorrow is a whimper day. You already know this but LOTS of water today.

Go You!

Oh yes. I'm already halfway through my 54-oz sippy bottle at work.

Which is adorable? Tenth Doctor? Cos-player? Ryan Gosling? Captain America? [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick? All of the above?

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2012-04-10 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)

Well, all of the above is the correct answer, but my clue was in the question.. "Who" haha!

Did you go to Indianapolis BECAUSE your dad is sick? Or just because it's time (or Easter, or...), and he happened to be sick?

The crossfit sounds strenuous and challenging, but in a really good way. I hope you enjoy it!

Since I don't visit my family during the winter holidays (I don't travel during the winter), I visit them on their birthdays. It works out, because Mommy was born in October and Daddy in April.

So his illness was just bad timing.

I am fascinated with the whole culture of Crossfit, and that helps a lot with enduring the agony of exhaustion.

If I die from laughing at those "texts from Hillary," please know that I will have died HAPPY.

Yay! Glad to hear someone else is enjoying them, too.

That Doctor dude looks amazingly like the real thing... er, actor in costume.

What's the meta with "Hey, girl"? Even without knowing that, the Jeff-and-Hil texting is hilarious! Also the "That's Madame Secretary" one ;-)

I expect class tomorrow will end early, so I'll be doing evening Crossfit then, too!

What's the meta with "Hey, girl"?

Nested reference! It's like a Matryoshka Doll of internet meme-age!

So... he never actually said, "Hey girl" in public? It's just that someone made an LOLcat Bryan Gosling, and now it's a meme?

Good lord, the things that become memes.
