It's funny because it's true
Saw this on
ontd_political yesterday. It's awesome and distressing. In memoriam: After years of health problems, Facts has finally died. Ha ha!
I think I mentioned here that I've completely stopped taking all OTC pills and supplements with the exception of Cod Liver Oil, Bio-Sil, Vitamin D drops, and a super-expensive allergen-free probiotic. The elimination of supplements and pills means no ibuprofen. This seemed like a really good idea at the time. And by "at the time," I mean "before I started Crossfit." I shouldn't complain, though.
mckitterick went with me last night and he's hurtin' this morning. The absence of analgesics also makes dealing with my period kinda rough. It'll be interesting to see how my body (if my body) can handle CrossFit when I'm cramping--which started, like, an hour ago (it's what woke me up this morning). Who knows? Maybe hard exercise will help with the cramping. Yeah, right. I should be so lucky.
You know you come across some people on LJ and you think "hey, s/he sounds cool--I bet we'd get along okay in real life" and then s/he posts something and you're like "WHERE IS MY FUCKING TRANSPORTER TECHNOLOGY SO I CAN HANG WITH THIS PERSON RIGHT NOW"? That's happened to me twice this year. First with
alryssa, who would be a kick even if we didn't share the due South love, and second is
pennswoods, whom I just met via
belluthien, last week and has already endeared herself to me by linking to an article reporting on research that shows porn-watching quiets the part of your brain that deals with anxiety. That's putting science to good use, folks.
I finished my last Crossfit Elements class last night and today I'm taking my "White Bandana Test" where I perform the learned movements to see if I'm safe to do WODs with the other kids. I'm also going to try the yoga class they have at the CrossFit box on Saturday mornings. I hope I like it. I want to resume attending a regular, active yoga class and that's just not going to happen if I have to go to a weeknight class.
Got seven hours of sleep last night. Not bad, but certainly not what I was hoping for. Can't say I'd call myself rested now. If I thought I would actually fall asleep, I'd go back to bed.
