A short grocery list
This is mostly for my own records, but for those of you who are playing along at home, here is a list of the problematic vegetables I've found on various websites.
FODMAP trouble foods
Artichokes, Asparagus, Avocado, Beets, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Dandelion greens, Garlic, Green bell peppers, Fennel, Leeks, Mushrooms, Okra, Onions, Peas, Scallions (white parts), Shallots, Sugar snap peas, Snow peas
FODMAP acceptable foods
Alfalfa, Bamboo shoots, Bok choy, Carrots, Celery, Endive, Green beans, Lettuce, Olives, Parsnip, Potato, Pumpkin, Red bell peppers, Spinach, Tomato, Turnip, Yam, Zucchini
Fructose trouble foods
Artichoke, Asparagus, Beets, Carrots, Dandelion greens, Cauliflower, Eggplant, Endive, Green peppers, Green cabbage, Kale, Leeks, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Onions, Radishes, Squash, Sweet potatoes, Tomatoes, Turnips, Turnip Greens, Watercress, Zucchini
Fructose acceptable foods
Celery, Escarole, Mustard greens, Pea pods (immature), Potatoes (white), Pumpkin, Shallots, Spinach, Swiss chard
Bell peppers appear as okay and problematic in equal measure across various websites, so I'm cutting them, just in case. There are a lot of other foods that show up in contradictory lists, too. Turnip greens, mushrooms, and zucchini pop up in both lists, but seem to fall more commonly in the problem category. To err on the side of caution, I'll include them in my own don't list.
So, cross-referencing those two lists, here are the vegetables available to me:
Alfalfa, Bamboo shoots, Bok Choy, Celery, Escarole, Green beans, Mustard greens, Olives, Potatoes (white), Parsnips, Pumpkin, Spinach, Swiss chard. Does anyone see conflicts? Let me know. Those are the vegetables I'll incorporate over the next four weeks. I think I can live with that.
I'm also going to start incorporating regular Nauli practice. I know I have issues with stagnation in my intestines. This should help.
I do kind of wonder if I should suck it up and go see one of the Doctors Khosh here in town. God, they're expensive, though.
Now off to color my roots with

I thought I'd read that yams are acceptable over sweet potatoes, can't find it now, but this article (http://nutrition.about.com/od/dietsformedicaldisorders/a/antiinflamfood.htm) was very helpful to explain a lot of it to me.
ETA: after looking it up:
Nauli! Now I see where Delilah of Seattle got that amazing sideways bellyroll.

Sucky about all those foods. This is the kind of thing those kinds of docs ARE useful for.

I was also feeling terrible for making mac n cheese in front of you, though, I know you don't judge (or at least do it silently).
And here is a water bottle in the living room that is not mine. I suppose you can live with out it for a while?

Damn about the water bottle. Grrr. But yes, no big deal. I'll get it next time!
