I just gotta see it for myself

Walking home from work yesterday, I was struck with the idea that someone needs to make a slashy fanvid exploring the jealousy of Steve Rogers regarding Tony Stark and Bruce Banner's TRU SCIENCE LOVE to the tune of Robyn's "Dancing on My Own." Then I realized wait wait, this needs the prelude of a vid with Tony dumping Pepper for Steve to "Call Your Girlfriend." Even though I firmly believe that Pepper would be perfectly willing to share. She's a smart and reasonable girl, that Pepper. This is absolute brilliance, people, and don't you even try to deny it. I have many ideas about songs for fanvids. Is there some sort of universal suggestion pot for vidders? I am not even going to contemplate ever taking up the hobby myself. No, no, no, and no.

I've been reading this blog for a while and I think I might love her a little. Lot. If anyone wants to buy her book for me, feel free.

While we're on the subject of GIFTS FOR ME, let me just throw this out there (in women's medium, please). Also, in case everyone missed it from the post earlier this week, I wouldn't complain should this show up on my doorstep (women's size small). I have it on good authority that [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick might be springing for these. XOXO, honey!

And while we're on the subject of SHOPPING: Although this blog is written with men's fashion in mind, the shopping tips in this article apply equally well to all sexes. If you're someone who does not know how to shop for him/her/hirself, consider reading this and taking its advice to heart. Or take me shopping with you. Either works.

HOW HOW HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS MOVIE.

The Broship of the Ring. You guys. YOU GUYS.

Looks like another trip to Italy might not be such a difficult thing to navigate, after all. Pizza's still out, but it's crazy to think that eating in Europe might be more navigable than dining out in my own damn hometown.

I'm in a better mood, and my energy levels are bouncing back. Coincidence? Or are the symptoms from The Great Cherry Incident finally dissipated? My limbs were still pretty heavy and my brain was mushy after work yesterday, but I didn't have to drag myself out of bed this morning. PROGRESS. Next week = Back to CrossFit.

It seriously makes my day when you make a post with caps and bold font and it's like I can *hear* you talking. I have bookmarked "Put This On" and promise to reference it religiously. I suck at shopping for myself. A lot.

And now I can't wait to get home from work so I can click on all those videos.

And this seriously makes my day, because I love that you understand and can hear the tones of voice in bold and caps. Yes yes they are entirely different things!

I suck at shopping for myself. A lot.

LET US MAKE A SHOPPING DATE.

Miss Expatria seems like a much cooler version of "Eat, Pray, Love." I read that on the suggestion of a friend, and while some parts of it were interesting, I found it to be mostly annoying.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-07 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I didn't bother picking up Eat, Pray, Love. My mom read it, saw the movie, described both to me, and I was pretty much

I just read Chocolat (srsly late to the game, I know) and it was okay up until about halfway through, and then it got worse. By the time I got to the end, I couldn't figure out why I bothered finishing it.

[identity profile] saffronhare.livejournal.com 2012-06-07 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Chocolat is only good as a movie, because...well, Juliette Binoche. That's why.

“More pork for you, if you don’t have bread!”

Oh yes, please!

At least the Bourne flick looks a bit better, I've tried to watch the previous ones in the series and just couldn't make it through them.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-07 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? Oh man, I fucking love the Matt Damon Bourne movies.

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2012-06-07 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd have been more interested if it were titled thus:

Eat Prey, Love.

I couldn't watch the movie because Julia Roberts just annoys me. except in Pretty Woman, I can forgive her that one

Eat Prey, Love.

HA HA HA HA HA HA

Broship of the Ring.

BROSHIP OF THE RING.

I just...I just peed myself a little. This is the Good Thing.

[identity profile] annamatic.livejournal.com 2012-06-07 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I liked Eat, Pray, Love for the most part... BUT, some parts of it I found Gilbert's narrative voice a bit too self-pitying and eye-rolly.

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2012-06-07 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)

I know! I don't know why, either, because I liked him well enough in other flicks, and I usually love CIA operative type plots.

Ooh, but you know.. this looks interesting (entirely diff subject)
Damon will next work with frequent collaborator Steven Soderbergh on a project as Liberace's longtime partner, Scott Thorsen, opposite Michael Douglas in an upcoming film centered on the pianist's life

Too bad it's with Michael Douglas (ick).. but it could be interesting to see MD play Liberace, if that's indeed the casting.

INORITE?

Check out this amusing little LOTR reference (http://samwisepotter.tumblr.com/post/21689495093/caitlin-with-a-c-yffar03-hot-female-archers), too.

I'm too excited to do this thing called READING COMPREHENSION right now because my red serge showed up and I am SO HAPPY

But that Loki gif kills me with the giggles EVERY TIME

I know lots of people are fans of the TED talk she did a few years ago (http://www.ted.com/talks/elizabeth_gilbert_on_genius.html), about the concepts of genius and inspiration. But I disagreed with her 100%. Any brilliant ideas that come out of me? That is all me, baby, and ain't no nebulous muse, unknowable source, psychological construct, or anything else taking credit for it. Likewise, I take responsibility for my failures. Doing otherwise seems very very wrong to me.

OMFG PICS PICS PICS

I'll have my people seek out an agreeable juncture of time and budget, and then we'll contact your people. :)

My husband claims he wants to have babies with Matt Damon. True story.

*FLAILS*

A friend of mine was visiting today AND I had a meeting with my current-soon-to-be-not Regional Field Director so my friend took a couple pics but he hasn't posted them yet BUT I PROMISE, SOON.

When one is In Tune with oneself, through your Ki or your Flow or whatever you want to call it, tapping into your greatest potential, the brilliance that can emerge is truly astonishing, yes. And it's awesome to own up to one's fuckups too. So many people don't.

If you want one, drop [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick a line. Maybe you could split shipping costs.
