WTH

I have a lot of dried shitaake mushrooms that I can't eat. Who wants 'em?

Last night I got eight hours of sleep but I'm still tired today. Tired and headachey with a little bit of dizziness going on and I think I have some swollen sinus issues.

WHAT IS THE DEAL.

Update: I just read this is wonderful (and short!) article about how language choice has an effect on our self-worth. Everything is a choice. Simply treat your choices as just that--choices.

I am having sinus/allergy craziness as well....

Ahhh. Well, if it's allergies, that would explain the fatigue, too.

BOO HISS

loved this article--thanks for sharing!

Yay! You're welcome!

You were the one who wisely introduced me to the 12-hr extended release real Sudafed for those times of the year when I used to be like "For some reason I just get headachey..." and you were totally, totally right.

If this keeps up, I might have to return to that. I've been trying really hard to avoid all OTC medications and supplements because I think I react poorly to the fillers and stabilizers.

I'll be happy to take the dried shitaakes if they haven't already been claimed.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Nobody's claimed 'em! When/how would you like to get them?

[identity profile] skyflame.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Whatever works best for your schedule. I'm not working right now, so I can come into town whenever.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm home this evening and Wednesday this week. Can you make either of those? I get home around 4:15 or so.

[identity profile] skyflame.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Wednesday will work. (I forgot that I have a chiro appt later this afternoon.) Do you want me to drop by the house, or meet somewhere for a Sooper Sekrit handoff?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
If you wouldn't mind terribly coming by the house? I'll PM you with the address. Let me know about what time you expect to arrive. Thanks!

[identity profile] skyflame.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
That'll be fine. 4:30ish?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Perfect. See you Wednesday.

I love that article.

My body rejects shitaakes. Oh dear.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, apparently now mine does, as well.

Well, they're going to go to a good home on Wednesday.

Hiddleston was in my dreams last night as one person who was in my newly built house that ended up being attacked by a bunch of bears. Probably because I got caught up with LJ last night before I went to bed.

I feel robbed that I haven't had a single Tom Hiddleston dream. With or without bears. SADNESS.

I liked that article. I've lately been hyper-aware of food-shaming and its sister fat-shaming, partly because I rooted them out of my own life pretty viciously. It amazes me how many people demonize food: "You can't eat that, it's a BAD FOOD, look at all those CARBS!"

It really does come down to choices. I choose my particular food battle with processed foods; others choose it with carbs or meat or dairy or what the hell ever they feel better if they don't eat. But there really is no 'BAD FOOD', just food you probably shouldn't eat a shit-ton of and food your body doesn't love.

I've started to get aggressive about responding to the diet-talk I encounter among friends and at work. I have a co-worker who says things like, "I was so good, I ate salad for lunch." I have begun replying, "I stayed on my diet, too. Everything I ate today was DELICIOUS," or "I was good too! I didn't eat anything I didn't thoroughly enjoy!"

I admit that I've gotten a little evangelical about my food choices over the last few years, not because I think everyone should eat like me, but because so many people very loudly and very snarkily think no one should.

Much love,
Rowan

I LOVE THIS.
