Nothing to see here

Swamped at work. Have some fluff.

I never had any interest in seeing the 21 Jump Street movie. Until now.

I would drink beer if it meant I could play beer pong with Chris Evans.

Y'all, this is so very not safe for work, but Buck Angel has a Tumblr. Check it! At home!

I mentioned this amazing Joker cosplayer to [livejournal.com profile] jimmy_hollaman on Saturday. The photoset came up on my Tumblr dash this morning, and I thought I'd share it with LJ. Amazing, isn't he? He's on Facebook, too.

That Joker has fantastic crazy eyes. Also, Chris Evans is ridiculously adorable.

I could look at both of them for ages, for very different reasons.

His WHOLE CARTOON FACE is made for being the Joker!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-07-23 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, his puts my cartoon face to shame.

[identity profile] mckitterick.livejournal.com 2012-07-23 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Nonsense. His is amazing, but yours is one of a kind.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-07-23 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww.

[identity profile] sherwood21.livejournal.com 2012-07-23 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I think he might have a better cartoon face than David Tennant too.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-07-23 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Now I wanna see David Tennant in Joker makeup.

[identity profile] sherwood21.livejournal.com 2012-07-23 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
That should definitely happen. The comparison data would be invaluable FOR SCIENCE.

How did I not know about Buck Angel? Anyhow, I really like his Tumblr page...I thought the vid with interviews was interesting.

I only learned about him a couple years ago. Pretty amazing guy.

[identity profile] jimmy-hollaman.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
he does a great job as the joker, good face structure and i must say, he has the smile going. I wonder what make up he is using, thats really nice.

Dude! Buck Angel... he is SO AWESOME. I've loved him long time.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
YAY! Happy to know another fan.

[identity profile] pennswoods.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I adore that Joker cosplayer. Looks like he's got an imdb page too.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Holy crap. So I guess he does this professionally. WHO KNEW THAT WAS A CAREER OPTION.

[identity profile] pennswoods.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! I think he's a professional actor who just happens to cosplay. That might explain why he's so good/has access to such brilliant makeup.

WHY ARE YOU SPOILING MY DAYDREAMS

Future career path, bb. :D

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I shake my fist at my younger self who never thought to go into theater wardrobe production/construction. I'm too old to make that particular career change, though. OMG can you imagine being a 40-something trying to make it up the rungs in the entertainment industry? UGH.

[identity profile] pennswoods.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
More of us 40-somethings should just go for it. We're sure as hell not too old to direct.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I just can't imagine turning my life over to such a thing at this point. I have too much wrapped up in things like fandom and rebuilding cars and exercise and other hobbies. Having watched both my parents make (successful) post-50 career changes, I know it absolutely consumes your life. I don't think I'm up for that.

[identity profile] pennswoods.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
You already have a full life with a lot going on already. The acting business sounds quite hellish and consuming at any age.

I'm not really planning to shift into a career in film, but I am serious about finding ways to link art with academia. Fortunately, academia is one of those areas where you can do wacky stuff like this.

No kidding. There's no way I would have wanted to be an actor. UGH. Production staff work is, as you say, hellish and consuming enough.

If I'd known what I know now about myself, though, I would have gone into theater costuming. If I'd been born fifteen years later, I would have gone into pop culture/fandom/transformative works studies (which are just now making inroads here at KU).

But since neither of those are an option (seeing as I still don't have a time machine), I need to figure out how to be more excited about what I'm doing day to day. I've been getting itchy for some sort of change in my life and I'm not sure where to direct that energy.
