Nerd Fitness hits it out of the park, again. Get The Fuck Over It is pretty much one of my life philosophies (along with No Should and No Guilt), so I support his advocating of this rule 100%.

I had another lymph drainage session today. I don't feel any different. I scheduled a third visit for next week. If I don't see any improvement after that, I'll feel I gave it a good shot and won't feel stupid for calling it quits too early.

Something else I'm not calling quits on yet: HANDSTANDS. Thanks to some email back and forth with saffronhare, I have a method on practicing these bastards. Wish me luck!

The new Smoker costume could get finished tonight! My fingers have taken a beating (that's a lot of handwork in a very short period of time), but I want to get this wrapped up so I can move onto the commissioned pieces.

Three people (the financials secretary, the chair, and the assistant to the chair) are outside my office, discussing the university's new policy on reimbursement for alcohol and if they think Endowment will cover the wine served at next week's new faculty reception. This conversation has been going on for twenty minutes. I find this tragically amusing for so many reasons.

I find the single best thing I can do in the hours when I am not engaged in a workout or basking in the post-workout glow is to *consume* awesomeness. I find as many sources of positive, ass-kicking narrative as possible...and use that to replace the self-sabotaging narrative that tends to creep in when I'm not paying enough attention.
