Yeah, except for that bit about good with children...

amazingrich,
What five things would you like to do during your lifetime, but probably never will? Why not?
1. The vacation you'll never take
I'd love to visit Turkey, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, all the places that gave birth to bellydance. I don't think U.S. relations with those places is ever going to improve to the point where I would feel safe.
2. The class you'll never take
I'd like to take some of the textile arts classes at KU. But I don't want to go back to the school of fine arts Ever Again.
3. Skill you'll never master
Martial arts. I'm not aggressive enough. I thought I'd like it when I tried it but I didn't.
4. The career option you'll never try
Full-time artist. Money is more important to me than art. Sad, but true.
5. The cultural event you'll never see
I'd love to see one of the ecstatic rituals (like in India) where the participants pierce themselves without bleeding, walk on fire, etc. I'm fascinated by religious ecstacy. Even if we do travel to India, though, I don't know that I'd go to one, because I know
0verdrive would most definitely not want to go and I wouldn't want to go by myself.

Queenie- Girl Power itself. However, this isn't
necessarily a good thing. People find you a bit
scary and unfair. And yes, *I* may like you but
others find your cheeky ways a bit irritating.
Ignore them. You can, after all- you're the
Queen!
Which of the main Blackadder characters are you?

UPDATE:
And, whoa! Content! I completely forgot to mention this when I posted earlier today. I've spoken to a couple people recently about how rare it is to read fantasy or science fiction where the protagonist is happy to be pulled out of his normal world and the main point of the book is not his desperate journey back home. Well, of course, my beloved Clive Barker has pleased me yet again by providing exactly such a heroine in Abarat. I told myself I wouldn't buy this book until the series was finished (there will be four), but I didn't want to wait anymore. I'm very happy that I didn't. In fact, I might return the trade paperback I bought and exchange it for a hardbound copy. I love this book. While the deviant sexual stuff is nonexistent (appropriate in Young Adult Fiction, probably), his sense of the nightmarish fantastic is right front and center. I think this is one of his best. Probably second only to Imajica, for me.
UPDATE 2: Sorry for all the updates, folks. It's a super slow day here.

If you're sailing around the world you have two choices for getting past Europe/Africa. Either through the Suez Cannel or down around Africa. I'm not taking an unarmed plastic boat through a war zone, and the east coast of Africa is covered in Pirates (and the tip of Africa is pretty stormy). So going completely around the world would be pretty unlikely even if I ever did some sort of extended trip.
That reminds me, I've got to start working on W. to convince her that she wants to take me to the Morrocan place (with the belly dancer) for my bday.
