Best news I've heard today

The Rhythm Busters have finalized their deal with Jackpot Saloon here on town to have some sort of early show (6 p.m. to 9 p.m.) every Saturday! The Rhythm Busters will begin the tradition Saturday, May 29. They'll alternate with other musicians, including locals Bill Crahan (guitar) and Scott Tichenor (mandolin) and guitarist Jim Stringer from Austin on June 12. Look for a more detailed calendar in this space soon!

UPDATE: OK, no nevermind, the best news I've heard today is my friend Greg just passed his PhD comps with honors! Woooo!

The Rhythm Busters play Western Swing (http://www.beta.webyoda.com/dumboozle/western/westdex.html). Think Buck Owens (http://www.buckowens.com/), Bob Wills (http://www.famoustexans.com/bobwills.htm), etc. I'm not sure about the others, although I know Jim Stringer does stuff along the same lines, with some rockabilly (http://www.billybop.be/styles/rockabilly/RRDefinition.asp) and other stuff thrown in.
