Kiss of death

As 0verdrive will tell you, I am the kiss of death when it comes to a variety of things. When I find something I enjoy, it usually spells doom for the item involved. Cosmetics companies cease production of an item or just close down completely. Television shows are cancelled. Menu items are removed from restaurant offerings. It happens with disturbing frequency.

Now secret_malady informs me that the DAV, my favorite thrift store in town, is closing. In the words of misia, that sucks donkey balls through a bendy straw.

In the good news arena, I just found out that state employees are getting a cost of living increase this year. Three percent! This is the first COL increase we've seen in at least three years. Probably more.

So that makes it more of a "Catch-up-with-cost Of Living" raise.

Well, since neither of those top my favorite list (although we do plan to put a bat house in the backyard this summer), I think those two things are safe.
