I feel the exact same way about podfics. Also, I don't want to hear how someone else interprets something I'm reading. Vocal inflections and all...also, I have a tendency to stop and re-read (or re-re-read) CERTAIN PARAGRAPHS while I'm reading a fic, even for the first time.
Podfics: Not My Bag.
I don't even like listening to talk radio or podcasts, really. It's super hard for me to listen to them for more than ten minutes or so.
AGREED. I have the tab open for the new Sherlockian podcast and it's sitting there taunting me. "Maybe if I knit something..." The only part of slashcast I've ever listened to was people talking about Sherlock Seattle, and that's 'cause I knew it was Emma asking people questions and that me and Penny were in it.
The only reason I manage to listen to Cabin Pressure is because it's only half an hour. I need to download the new one (illegally) because my favorite way to listen is with headphones on while cooking--I always warn my housemates so they don't think I'm laughing at nothing. Or on long bus trips, of which I took several this last year, before I had a smartphone, going to and from Astoria (which takes about three hours). Some episodes of CP will always remind me of knitting on the bus to Astoria.
